JIM ROBINSON AS THE NEW JOSEPH FARAH - STABBING THE CONSERVATIVE MOVEMENT IN THE BACK [Re:Giuliani]
On one the few rational minds left around here - but for long | 4/24/2007 | Al Simmons

Posted on 04/24/2007 10:22:39 AM PDT by Al Simmons

About me:

Lurker - since 1998

Member - since 1999

In self-imposed exile - since April 2007

The tone of the debate and the attacks on long-time fellow Freepers for the cardinal sin of daring to support Rudy Giuliani in early 2007 around here have really saddened me. Instead of fighting the enemy FR is now imposing an 'ideological purity' test on FR members. The well-oiled train has gone off the rails and Mr. Robinson risks becoming the next Joe Farah - a fellow who started a great website for conservative news and opinions, but who gradually drifted off to la-la land, losing all credibility - and readership - in the process.

He has set himself squarely in the Internet media spotlight, doused himself with gasoline, and and lighted himself on fire - a fact that has not escaped the attention of the left-wing lunatics at Daily Kos. Their reporting on what has been going on at FR is perhaps the first factually true account published on their site.

Jim, if that quote of yours about setting up an organization to 'Swiftboat Rudy' is accurate as quoted in their article, the only thing I have to say to you is that you ought to be ashamed of yourself, as you have now become the back-stabber of the conservative cause.

If you wish to marginalize this site by turning it into a narrow "several-issue" forum, that is your right. Just as it is my right to choose to not participate here any longer.

But you will be disappointed if you think that the crude, illiterate "goon squad" you have allowed free rein around here (dmw, narses, dirtboy, extremely extreme extremist, ReaganMan and several others - if I have slighted anyone, please email me if you want onto this list) will elevate the level of intellectual debate.

The result has been predictably in the other direction. That is what happens when you hire a bunch of brown shirts to enforce your own brand of political correctness.

Well, guess what? Politics is 99% BS and one can quite nicely live one's life without the need to bloviate about it. I know how I am going to vote. I could care less about anyone else. Life is too short to waste my time around here when I am clearly one of those made to feel like they are not welcome.

So, go ahead Jim -

MAKE MY DAY. BAN ME. I DARE YOU.

“Hunter just called for Reid to resign.”

That is all well and good but he needs to step it up a few more notches IMHO.

In as much as I dislike Rudy and would have a hard time voting for him, he is at least saying the Democrats are surrendering to the terrorists and are giving aid and comfort to them.

Re: rudy’s recent statements.
Heard part of a speech on Limbaugh today that was very good, but still has a long way to go to make me trust him on 2nd amendment issues. Abortion, he might as well stick with his 100% NARAL rating. Think they will endorse him?

Reid needs to be recalled. Period. He is a danger to this country, and he should be officially labeled a traitor.

Yes, but on the war, Rudy is the only one that gets the war enough to openly say that the dems want to put is back on defense...to pretend that we are living in a 9-10 world. Make no mistake, with Rudy’s strong position on the war but his other social positions, Republicans currently have a dilemma. We can all wish that this would go away, but this is where we are now.

I’ve been saying it for a long time. But I can’t put him in handcuffs and have him remanded to the courts.

He’s dangerous. Period.

He’s already sold us out to the terrorists, and that ticks me off because I have a grandson in Iraq and one here, waiting for orders.

I want to email Reid, but I’m afraid I’ll be too emotional to make sense. He literally makes my blood boil. The traitor.

He is a traitor. He puts me and my Airmen in danger.

He is planning to cut funding for the War on Terror to disable the Troops in the AOR.

However, what he is doing is cutting the funding to the Troops at home gearing up to go to the AOR.

Next month, I expect to loose two paychecks while he and Pelosi battle to not fund the war.

I will accept the the loss in pay in order that my paycheck will help to fund Army operations in Iraq and elsewhere.

I don’t know how to do it, and I don’t know where to start, but I’m going to try and find out if there is any movement for a recall for this turncoat. If there isn’t, I want to start one.

He is spitting on the graves of those who have already made the supreme sacrifice for this country, and he is laughing at all those who have been wounded.

And in doing that, he is making himself a target.

i have been thinking about how people have begun to snipe at each other in here more and more...we all should be looking for a way to bridge a gap ...and i am not talking about the gap between the liberals and the conservatives...but the gap that seems to be widening among conservatives themselves....

Maybe that's what the liberals are counting on...that we will divide and be conquered because we can't stop arguing semantics.

“The military is already drawing from naval funds to keep troops supported in Afghanistan and Iraq and other countries in the War on Terror. You would think that the urgency of this matter, coupled with the President’s firm veto commitment, would lead to rapid action to find an acceptable compromise.”

Pelosi and Reid.

And this.

GAH!!

*shudder*

I feel so helpless. I’m a military widow, mom and grandmom, and I’ve never seen political blackmail as blatant as what Pelosi and Reid are doing to this country.

I hate to think that my marine grandson is protecting the right of Pelosi and Reid to spout their vitriol. Reid is guaranteeing that we lose...but I’m not about to let him...I just signed a petition, for what it’s worth, to tell him what a traitor he is.

Thanks.

I think the most effective way to voice your opinion of this mess is to call, NOT email, your two Senators, and CALL your Representative. They may even answer the phone! (My Rep did, Young, AK)

Let them know what you think and the impact, their vote and their voice, will have come election time.

Best I can do in my position.

I can do that. I know it’s difficult for you, but trust me: when I fight for my grandsons, I fight for all military personnel, all over the world, and their families.

Thanks for your service, and for being involved!
