We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
Gee, and I thought that song was for me. (I’m so vain...)
Oh, and assuming it has something to do with leaving, in THAT particular post I had no thought of leaving. In fact, it was more of an answer to my own sadness of seeing old-timers get “banned”.
I sat down and thought through why I was sad, and realised it was silly. So I wrote why it was silly to “grieve” for a few people having their accounts removed from an internet forum.
Oddly, a little later I got the idea to step out for a while, because of the level of obcenity and personal attacks on this thread (step out from this thread, not from the site). As you all know, I am uncomfortable with the use of a personal attacking style, but it’s a free country, so my response is to exercise my own free will to remove myself from that which bothers me.
But I’ll probably post something more specifically about that if I decide to go. I’m still thinking.
Hi Nauti.
I imagine they'll be allowed, but only if Rudy and "RINOs" are blamed. :)
"Bush's Fault" has gotten so old, ya know.
Side note:
I believe it's time to resurrect a quote that was on my profile page here four years or so ago. Have a great night.
"The slaves of power mind the cause they have to serve, because their own interest is concerned; but the friends of liberty always sacrifice their cause, which is only the cause of humanity, to their own spleen, vanity, and self-opinion."
- William Hazlitt (1778 - 1830)
That fact that there now has to be “sides” in this manner is absolutely asinine.
Well, he won’t take Texas with those views (among other states, too). So tell me, how does Rudy win without Texas?
Pardon me, but if you could make it blink....it would be perfect. lol
Texas did go for Clinton. What exactly are you getting at?
Hey, I heard that!
Clever! ;-)
eBay for biddin’ ? ;^)
But it’s still confusing, because the CNN column says that this guy Kanan? was selling the things BEFORE the election. I did see one of the archived threads mentioned him, he registered a web site right after the election.
That jibes with the CNN article which noted he wasn’t doing too much business until after the election. But if the CNN story is true, it means that this Kanan guy had the idea before ANY of the freepers, or the other people who thought of it after the election.
I’m just curious what people think of the CNN story. Do we think the Kanan guy lied to the CNN guy who wrote the story?
Texas NEVER went for Clinton.
BTW, I didn’t respond to you at the time although I read your response.
I wanted to say that on item 3, regarding the Va Tech shooting and a tuesday comment, I agree with your response, it was a stupid idea of mine.
In fact, on Tuesday I was writing an opinion column blasting politicians for using the shooting for their own political purposes, so it was bizarre that a few days later I was criticizing Hunter for not doing what I had attacked other people for doing.
Thanks for reminding me of the importance of character above self-promotion.
