We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
“dancing on Dominics demise”
What? Not allowed to dance on a pro-aborts zot? Please feel free!
This is like watching the 2nd tower on 9/11 when the first tower already tumbled down. I can’t tear myself away and I keep asking myself, “why would someone do such a thing?”
Me neither. I’m chopped liver.
Thanks. The better question is #7,673.
What exectly is the end game? Somebody help me out. The jackasses over at DU and Daily Kos, who apparently were living in a cave while Karl Marx/Engels well intentioned egalitarian Communist experiment was failing in one country after another, are laughing their f’ing ass off at us.
I must’ve made an impression on old Al Simmons.
In the end, he was a better ballplayer then he was a conservative FReeper.
I wasn’t here during the Teri Schiavo period and I don’t think I have ever mentioned her here, but I did get hit with this today on another thread.
“””No, and youre still an idiot whos brave in the forums. I stopped posting here because of the whole Terry Schiavo thing, remember? When all the hardcore Jesus freaks went psycho and claimed that their bible trumped the American Constitution. Besides, dumbass, I wrote that as satire. You know, irony? Really, when someone says one thing and...ah, never mind...youre an idiot and lets just leave it at that.”””
We are with you, keep up the good work Jim!
This is a conservative forum, there is a presumption that its members are conservative. Conservative values are what we believe, and they are interdependent of each other. The social aspect of conservativism comes from our God-given rights as mentioned in the Declaration of Independence and protected (but still God-given) by the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Our belief in limited government is also spelled out in these same documents that our Founding Fathers bestowed, by God's Grace, on us for our posterity. To not be a conservative is an affront to God and it shows a lack of gratitude for what our Founding Fathers sacrificed so much to give us.
There is nothing to debate and non-conservatives should not post here (they should however, be allowed to lurk and hopefully they will come to realize the truth).
Dang......I’m not worthy to even be mentioned either. Guess I’ll have to ratchet it up a notch or ten.
Oh, that's mild compared to some of the stuff many of us had to take because we supported Terry Schiavo's right to not be murdered by starvation/dehydration. And some of those ghouls who were hurling the insults at the folks who stood on the side of protecting life are the same dolts that just got banned or opused.
This hiccup is almost over. They'll forget soon enough and so will we. But we will be stronger for shaking out and eliminating those who were obstacles to what we're trying to accomplish here. Pretty soon, this thread won't get any more posts and then we need to get to work taking Giuliani down and keep conservatism strong in the GOP.
Fred Thompson.
That reminds me of a classic line from the 80’s film “Back to the Future”. Marty goes back in time and they ask him “So who is President in the future?” He answers “Ronald Reagan”. Response: “The Actor!!!!....”...I forget the rest of the response, but it was something to do with who was VP.
did it ever?
Many of us are still chastised for daring to suggest that Terri shouldn’t have been murdered.
Have you seen Demolition Man? I think Arnold was president in that one. :)
For us long time conservative FReepers, I think this thread has been cathartic. And Jim got to clean house too.
Thank you Jim.
When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, “just men who will rule in the fear of God.” The preservation of government depends on the faithful discharge of this duty; if the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the laws; the public revenues will be sqandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizens will be violated or disregarded. If a republican government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws.
[Noah Webster, History of the United States (New Haven: Durrie & Peck, 1832), pp. 336-337, ¦49.]
I think this thread is serving as a flame to attract moths. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Don't be too flattered. I also remember the time in third grade when I threw up all over my desk in school
