We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
Can't possibly read the whole thing and I may be restating something that's been said already, maybe several times, but I try to keep things simple...
Conservatives need to put the most conservative candidates we can muster front and center for another reason, that is, we need to KNOW whether conservatives can win instead of going with the MSM annointed "leaders". If we as conservatives offer up and fully support our best and brightest to the electorate and they/we lose -- then we'll know.
We may or may not like the answer we get, but we will at least learn whether or not we should buy more ammunition. ;^)
LOL! Excellent!
Could you ping me to your next recap (I’m also not a speed reader)
BTW... did you think about selling your summary as Cliff Notes? ;-)
Evenin’,,,looks like it’s already happened...;0)
Too bad. You were one of the few Rudyphiles I consider honest and fair.
What is wideawake tron?
Well, he did have his plan to scoop and dump the dead firefighters into a landfill until public outrage made him back off.
Sounds painful.
Some folks seemed to throw themselves on the bayonets, too...

I was trying to start in the thread where I left off this morning, but I kept seeing the thread grow as I moved from page to the next page, so I thought I’d just start on the last page and I still couldn’t keep up. LOL!
It’s amazing to me to see that the lemmings are still running over the cliff. I wish this “purge” hadn’t become necessary, but it did, because Rudy’s supporters were interferring with the discussion of the differences between our conservative candidates.
For example in a thread where people were discussing the differences between Romney and Thompson, Rudy’s supporters would not come in and talk about the issues being discussed because really what could they add to an abortion discussion for their candidate? Romney and Thompson might be accused of changing their views, but good old Rudy has always been solidly pro-abortion? Yes, that will win over conservative converts!
They couldn’t argue for Rudy on an issue by issue basis because Rudy is a one issue candidate for them - National security, so, they had to take apart the other candidates and would come in the thread and call them flip-flopper, throw out something not even supported by fact as long as they thought it would be a good smear like Fred is Mormon, too or that Fred and Romney are both pro-choice. These tactics are solely to bring the other candidates down to Rudy’s level and that is not an acceptable tactic when you are promoting a candidate. They also took the original discussion away to a discussion of Rudy.
It’s like the old Sesame street song - One of these things is not like the others, one of these things just doesn’t belong. Rudy doesn’t belong as an acceptable candidate to conservatives, so why let his promoters take away from discussion of the real conservative candidates.
In fact, the founder himself said this:
The fact is we need a more conservative government. How do you make it more conservative? The obvious answer is you make it less liberal. How do you make it less liberal? Vote out the Democrats. After you get the worst of the socialist lot of the Democrats replaced, then you can make it more conservative yet, by eliminating the worst of the lott of the Republicans. May sound dumb, but it's the only way. In other words, you're gonna have to make government a whole lot more Republican before you can make it conservative. - Jim Robinson, March 13, 2002
We're all conservatives here. Keep in mind that not all conservatives are the same. There isn't a blue print for the American conservative. Nor is there a one-sized fit all template. Heck, there are those who are atheist and agnostic who post here. Conservatives aren't religious fanatics, nor are they theocratic, conservatism does however share and oftentimes agrees with the social and moral values found within religious texts.
I don't believe President Bush is 100% conservative. I'm not bothered by that, because I don't fall into the "purist" camp. My trouble with President Bush is that he's soft on illegal immigration.
At this point. I have no clue who I am supporting. The political season is too long as it is anyway. Seems everytime I turn around, I've got to cast a vote. (I have a school election to vote in on May 8th).
Lastly, let the candidates speak for themselves. That's what debates are for. I trust everyone here has a brain, a sound judgement, and is more than capable of using both.
Put you call where it doesn’t shine..small change : )

I’m heading to bed real soon since I went to bed after 6am this morning because of this thread and got up at 8am for church. I’m just a wee bit tired now.
And in case it hasn't dawned on you ABG, if McCain, Giuliani or Hiliarly get to the White House, the net result is going to be the SAME.
Now I know you have to be a sleeper yourself. As bad as McCain and Giuliani are, there's no way on Earth they could ever be as bad as The Wicked Witch of the West Wing.
Junior, there's bad, and there's evil. If you can't figure out the difference, go back to DU...
I want a Republican in the White House.
I’ll support ANY Republican who wins the nomination. The nominating process is brutal. We should be grateful for that, since it weeds out flakes, nut-jobs and unelectable paladins.
If Rudy comes through the primaries, it will be because he managed to earn the support of a very large number of right-of-center voters.
Somehow, I doubt we're going to suffer from a lack of liberals around here for a very long time. Even at today's wonderful rate of attrition, it would take years to clear 'em all out.
Best to you EV. I have no bad thoughts about you, except for brief period when you got a bit bullyish. But that baton has been passed up the line. I wish you the best and every success. I mean that sincerely. Life is short.
