Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

I’ve never like the idea of compassionate conservatism and have always said so.

I allowed myself to be duped into compassionate conservatism because I thought 'winning' was everything in politics. I worked in a very liberal environment -- a television newsroom -- and I guess some of their thinking got to me. If I had listened to the memories of what my father taught me I'd have realized the error in my reasoning much sooner.

I prefer plain old fashioned type of conservatism without the excuses for liberalism.

That's my preference as well. Stand for principle and it will stand for you.

Your “several hours” has been less than an hour.

Why post here if you don’t like the place?

“I seriously doubt any of them will waste their vote in a close election just because they even ‘hate’ the candidate.
Afterall, there’s hate and then there’s the kind of HATE one has for the Clintons.
The latter one’s the ace of trump.”

I will not waste my vote on either Hillary or Rudy. I don’t hate either one but would not ever in a million years vote for them. Just because someone finds a person’s views repulsive does not mean that we hate him or her.

The point of trying to sink Rudy now is to save the Republican party from making a huge mistake. His supporters are totally mistaken when they believe in the end that many of us will hold our nose and vote for him. In ain’t gonna happen!

My, my, you are the nauti one today. Kinda uptight are we? I was just trying to be nice, but that didn’t work out too well for me did it? Take a valium, nurse. ;^)

Don't get your hormones hopping to dance on my grave. Jackals like you live for discord. You crave it. While you are a sociopathic keyboard commando, I am one who lives and breathes conservatism. Action speaks louder than words but not nearly as often.

“I am PRAYING that Rudy doesn’t make it to the White House.”

I agree. And I think Rudy is just basking in his ‘15 minutes of fame’ right now.

It’s too early to rule anyone out and there are good ‘conservative’ candidates out there that I think the public will rally behind.

“We would be better as a forum if we would join together in prayer and hard work and cut out the massacre of others who see things in a very slightly different light.”

Yes. We should join together in prayer and hard work, but as far as ‘massacre of others who see things differently’, it’s not so much disagreeing on a particular candidate that is causing the trouble. It’s the ‘bashing’ of conservatives such as Reagan that is unease.

Pointing out the fact that ‘anyone buy hillary’ is someones position is fine. We can all live with honest differences.

But using past seeming ‘discretions’ of good conservatives to advance ones point isn’t.

“I VERY much appreciate this conversation with you, Bigh. Thank you!”

Not a problem. I don’t agree with many things you have said, but being a Constitutional Conservative, I will defend your right to say them.

Besides. I think you know what is the right thing to do, but as I’ve pointed out in other posts, it may not be the ‘easy’ one.

Sorry, but the attaboy simply does not apply to politics.

Really? Tell that to George Allen, Trent Lott, Pat Buchanan and the many others who have had their "macaca moments". In the case of Giuliani, if you throw all of your conservative principles away to promote and support a damned liberal, you're going to wear the stain pretty much forever.

Since when has supporting different candidates in a Republican primary been tantamount to enemy fire?

Since the frontrunning candidate is barely a Republican, opposing the majority of the Party Platform. And since he's the most liberal GOP presidential candidate in the history of the known universe. The battle lines are drawn between conservative and liberal - not Republican and Democrat. This is a conservative site and we fight for conservatives and against liberals NO MATTER WHAT PARTY DESIGNATION THEY LIKE TO USE.

Don’t presume to speak for me.

I love it here, in spite of the circus that it has become as of late.

It was the same during the 2000 primaries, when most of the hardcore “true conservatives” were calling GW a “coke-snorting frat boy”. And that includes a lot of the more high-profile/storied posters that are still around today.

FR survived.

It was the same when the Keyes supporters decided that anyone who didn’t agree with them wasn’t a “true conservative”, and the tone turned sour.

FR survived once again.

And in spite of the childish behavior, and the ridiculous notion that those who don’t agree with you are stupid and evil - FR will continue to survive.

If the majority of the conservative movement was as abrasive as you, we’d never win squat, in spite of “sticking to our principles”.

Thank goodness that’s not the case. And that observation has zero to do with Rudy, and everything to do with being a decent, mature adult.

Too many have been voting for the lesser of two evils for a long time. It is time to stop this nonsense once and for all. If you wish to see more things like CFR, the gang of 12, big government, a culture of death, uncontrolled immigration, and further shreading of our Constitution be my guest. I will not be a party to such a travesty.
