Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

I used to put Sunoco 260 in my '68 GTO!

That was great fuel, I worked in a Sunoco while in high school, and for some of the street racing crowd, even 260 wasn't quite enough, so they would mix it with Amoco Super Premium, and THAT was about as close to aviation fuel as you could get without a trip to the local airport. LOL

Here you go FRiend, this pic is for you:

As long as we pursue nostalgia, I have very fond memories of all the “Burma Shave” signs outside of Denver....My dad and I would play a game centering on repeat signs, and new ones.

My dad bought the 68 goat for 4100 in 1968. When he bought a new car in 72, he sold me the GTO for 900.00. I loved that car! Fast? Omygosh!

Oooh. Tough guy.

Couldn’t remember your name to add to my post to Jedward ,FR’s saviour of the Republic. You are such a tuffy; you really displayed your guttersnipe talent for mugging and knifing in the first part of the thread, against people too civilized to realize what was happening. I certainly would not omit a big all-American con-artist like you from the list of riff-raff here.

How much is Mr. Robinson paying you, tuffy?

I only saw a few of the old Burma Shave signs as a kid, the last set of them I saw was actually a spoof of them on the old M*A*S*H TV series.

Great advertising it was.

I wasn’t going to respond to this, but changed my mind.

I’ve been hammering away at the same theme for months. The vast majority of my posts and threads for the last few months have been made in support of fighting for our conservative values and against liberalism. I don’t have a whole lot of time to be posting new threads during our fundraisers, but I do post to a lot of ongoing threads. And I did so during this one. I joined the debate against Giuliani on dozens of threads. If you wish to review my posts, be my guest. I wasn’t bashful, and I wasn’t holding back. I hammered away at the same theme. They all had similar pro-God, pro-life, pro-Liberty, anti-liberal arguments. Sorry you missed them

I also posted a couple threads besides this one. And, other than the last three weeks in March when we were on the road to DC and back, I’ve been posting threads and debates on the same topic for months (and years). And just like this thread, none of my other threads were posted for baiting or banning or purging. I was just trying to make sure everyone on FR knew exactly what we’re fighting for and what FR is all about.

I think the difference here is that due to my earlier threads and ongoing debates on hundreds of threads, many of our posters had already drawn their battle lines and in fact, many of those whom left us on this thread we’re already gone. Wideawakes.net was already up and running having started sometime in March and several of our old friends were already posting there. I truly believe that many of the people who ended up resigning or getting banned had already made up their minds to leave or had at least one foot out the door. It wasn’t a purge, it was a mass exodus.

At some point on this thread, the parties of the two forums decided to do battle. I didn’t start it for that purpose, but decided if it had to be, I’d let it run its course. In fact, several months ago, I had decided to let the conservative candidate vs liberal candidate debate run its course with minimal intervention by the mods. And I’m afraid that in addition to losing several posters, we also lost at least three mods for that very reason.

At any rate, here are some of my recent threads you may have missed:

Are you on Jim's side? If so, you should be happy that those who were ruining the greatest conservative forum in existence are gone.

If only it were so black and white, so cut and dried. An honest answer to your question, am I on Jim's side? Yes and no.

I agree with Jim a lot, and I agree with a lot of the principles he's recently set forth. However, I do not agree with them all, nor am I likely to agree with them all. I am definitely saddened by the recent purge. I believe it was unnecessary and only served to hurt FR and the GOP in general.

Now, before you ask, why am I here? It's simple, I agree with Jim more than I agree with the other guys at this juncture. I may agree with RDU (random DU'er) 2% of the time, but I agree with Jim 80% of the time. So it would logically follow that I would feel more at home here than at DU, where I'd disagree 98% of the time.

Since strong language seems to fly around Fr these days, I'll be uncharacteristically blunt. If any two people, let alone 3 more agree 100% of the time, one or more them are kissing someone's ass. The agreement isn't genuine and should be dimissed. At the first juncture, someone's going all Iago, and the pretty little coalition falls apart.

Now, I'll make my position perfectly clear. I fear that Rudy is not the canditate that I originally thought he was. However, if he wins the party nomination, which I find likely, I'm not only voting for him, but I promise heaps of derision and abuse on anyone who breaks ranks and goes 3rd party. I'm a loyal Republican. If that's a sin on FR, so be it. That much is immutable, I will not budge.
