Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Come clean, Jackson. You could care less about reparations. You oppose practically everything that Alan Keyes stands for, and you hate the fact that he’s so outspoken.

lmao...yeah, just fluttering around floating like a butterfly, stinging like ummmmmmm a butterfly lol.
No guts or courage to admit their real feelings. I think Gumlegs and Sam Hill are conservatives sort of caught in the middle of the gnashing of teeth.

“But there are others just watching the event of this thread and I think some are agreeing with the conservative side to this battle, albeit in degrees.”

That is encouraging.

At that other web site someone posted that Howlin had a “crew of personal toadies”, if you know what that means would you freep mail me?

LOL! You're the one who needs to come clean...he's your idea of the perfect Presidential candidate.

So if he runs, will he promise to make African Americans a protected class again?

“If by “hostile people”, you mean FReepers who are sick and tired of the incivility, name calling, crude language and crude behavior permeating this thread and seeping to others, you’d be correct. It doesn’t reflect well on the rest of us.”

Ditto.

My ever expanding sewing area is packed full of fabric, but I am getting better about throwing out the smaller scraps. You know, I might just make those 20 or 30 scrap quilts some day! ;-)

ROTFLMBO!!!!!!

I have boxes of quilt squares. The smallest size I'll save is 3" x 3". All of it is from scrap fabric left over from something I made, usually for the kids.

My husband feels about the same way. However, you should see his scrap metal collection, and nails, and screws, and.....

What I find amazing is that people who have been here since the formative years of of the site ,some who were very active, and many who were well thought of are now suddenly “liberals” and I do mean suddenly...

In the midst of 911 no one worried about Rudy Guliani’s position on abortion...we were galvanized by what happened. Our country was attacked. Now there is some strange mob mentality .....”Liberals” must be sought out and eliminated. This is truly sick, and those in the cheering section are the sickest.

JR opened a can of worms that is very destrucutive. This is a very sad time for this site. Yep,JR has the power to do what he wants , but its clear that in this situation he doesn't know how to use it.

In the political process I have witnessed...the primary season is often hotly contested, everyone voices their opinions and gets riled up and its quite noisy...Then the choices are made and miracle of miracles the party unites and moves forward (hopefully to victory).

Ronald Reagan chose what was then what these folks would call a liberal Rino,GHW Bush to be his VP. Sorry but thats how it works...and to do otherwise is to go off a cliff.

This thread is silly and destructive and its too late for JR to fix it. I never thought I would be ashamed of this site, but I am now.

I certainly hope you are wrong. I see a robust Republican Party. We certainly need debate but I believe we will choose the best possible Candidate in the end in spite of acrimony a year and a half before the general election. Anyway, I appreciate your reply.

Same here. I enjoy a good heated debate but don’t get into the personal assault stuff. I think it weakens your arguement when you resort to name calling. But to each his own, I guess. Some people thrive on it.

But I find myself doubting that we’ll ever have the benefit of your years of research. Something just doesn’t smell right.

A toady is a lapdog. Someone who does the bidding of others. Howlin had many Todies around FR over the years. Several right on this thread.
