Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

The landscape outside was pretty well taken care of, too.

“You have not provided anything here either.”

Remember, you are the one with the facts, I never claimed anything like that.

(gasp) (pant) Okay, I give up!!! I was trying to read the entire thread, but since I started two whole days late, I just keep falling farther behind! However, I do think I've read enough of it (1-3400 and approx 7000-11000) to understand clearly what's gone on here.

It's my perception that FReepers who've been banned brought it on themselves. I applaud JimRob's decision to move the forum back to its original purpose. I love this place, but I come here to learn more about and discuss the application of conservative principles to the issues, not to argue with liberals who disagree with those principles.

This purge is bloody and painful to many, but I think it's a good idea in the long run.

largesse: That can be descriptive of either party. Many politicians have stepped away from their grassroots while partying away with big donors. "If you ain't rich, we don't need you until it's time for precinct walks and phone banks."

Never again, not for a bunch of rinos.

I’m not trying to be “swarmy”. Hehe, I don’t think I’ve ever been called that one before, lol!

On the contrary, I do NOT want Free Republic to experience a demise of any kind. I’m just trying to make the point that shaking the foundation of any institution -even FR - can have unexpected consequences (e.g., subscriber base, monetary, etc.).

I hope FR remains a force, but one that isn’t as vitriolic as it currently finds itself at the moment.

And Howlin's supposedly a mean bully?

Like I said. Read her last 50 posts. Those are indicative of her posting history.

No, you just made fun of me for your first post directed to me. That really was the point of why I posted on this thread. I won’t entertain showing you proof of why I may think one way or another. Debate is respectful and if you really wanted to discuss this, you would not have done so by making your first post to me insulting.

Are you ok with “I just don’t want the Religious Right DRIVING AND STEERING this bus known as Free Republic? I know it’s JimRob’s bus, but he strikes me as a member of the “religious right”.

If a person chooses to leave, it's not a purge.

If a person says things that a website owner warns him not to continue with, breaking rules and speaking out of line, but he does it anyway, because said person doesn't like what the owner says about a political candidate, it's not a purge if he gets suspended, it's a disciplinary action.

Your choice of saying purge is a clear rhetorical device that tries to make people believe, or perhaps, reinforcing what you personally wish to believe happened.

Many folks threw themselves upon the sword after warnings. A number of folks asked for their accounts to be closed. Some just left. If it is a purge, it's a self-purge of those who didn't want to be at a forum where their views were at odds with the stated mission-purpose of the site, and that is reiterated in the opening message of this thread.

It's disingenuous of you to continue using that term. It's a rhetorical form of bait, and declares, "I don't care what really happens, this is how I want to think about it." You are either self-deluding, or determined to make some political point that satisfies some need of your own, but it is not the mark of a truth seeker. It might be the mark of someone who is enjoying the word game for the fun of it. That in turn speaks volumes.

They were not all bad FV, they watered her flowers in the hospice when they were killing her.

Don't forget, Terri got to experience "euphoria" (although, they never could explain how someone who is "brain dead" can feel anything).
