Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

These are just some of the grand conspiracies that abide on “Gulag” Darwin

“-Jim Robinson is not in charge of FR, secretly replaced.
-Fred Thompson will be swiftboated lmao
-Next “purge” goes after GWBush supporters, bushbots
**Alan Keyes has bought Free Republic and is the puppetmaster lol.”

Different crackpots for each different conspiracy theory. I’m moled in over there being arrogant and scientific and such.

"Some people call them position traps."

That implies an ambush. If we're all Conservatives here, (in other words, if people didn't sign up with positions antithetical to the goals of this site) nobody shrieks entrapment....

Experience had taught me that innocence seldom utters outraged shrieks. Guilt does. Innocence is a mighty shield, and the man or woman covered by it, is much more likely to answer calmly: “My life is blameless. Look into it, if you like, for you will find nothing.” That is the tone of innocence. (537)

As I struggled to control my feeling, slowly and deliberately, I heard myself saying, rather than said: “The story has spread that in testifying against Mr. Hiss I am working out some old grudge, or motives of revenge or hatred. I do not hate Mr. Hiss. We were close friends, but we are caught in a tragedy of history. Mr. Hiss represents the concealed enemy against which we are all fighting, and I am fighting. I have testified against him with remorse and pity, but in a moment of history in which this Nation now stands, so help me God, I could not do otherwise.” (694-695)

This thread. What the heck is going on here? We've lost too many good FReepers just off of this thread.

Honestly? Pro rudy FReepers started bailing with opuses and many other FReepers, not necessarily rudy supporters, started to bail in protest....

That could be.

It also could be that you just never saw a problem with it before since it was being done by "a lot of long time members", "I considered them to be good members" and "I consider it to be a great loss to Freerepublic."?

have found the easiest and best way to handle somone who said something I didnt like is to find the off button or try another thread.

And if they enter your house, cuss you out, slap you around and beat your kids, what will you do?
Will you leave?
Or will you kick them right out the door?

“The problem with all that is that he also got rid of a lot of long time members. I disagree with you in that I considered them to be good members. I consider it to be a great loss to Freerepublic. I saw some of them get banned while politely, if forcefully arguing their points in the face of unbelievably rude and sarcastic comments from their opponents, who were not banned. I’m appalled at the glee and vindictiveness with which they were cheered on their way. I don’t see that as a credit to conservatism”

I have been reading many of their posts they have been making on their home site and it turns out they were worse than we ever knew, they are high fiving each other, bragging about what they got away with for so long, including a long time member that stated that all those years he was trying to undermine FR, and that it was his sole goal here.

Reading what they think and have thought about freerepublic for years is shocking.

The bottom line is that many of those banned are admitting that they hated JR, hated FR, and hated all of us mouth breathing Christians all along.

Many of them were a part of a fifth column group and they are even now pooling some of their other accounts to further the cause.

Many of the non-banned people here on this thread seem to be in contact with those threads and even bounce back and forth bragging about their postings here and how they stirred the pot for Rudy, and against the social conservatives.

I’m not an old timer here, but I recognize many of them, and I am reading their own words.

I don’t know why people devote so much energy to wanting to disrupt other people’s activities but it seems to be a part of the internet world.

Hi Allegra. Nice to 'see' you.

I'm in shock.

At the loss of FRiends...but also that none of them could seemingly control themselves.

Hell, it's okay to be passionate about something, but to get yourself vaporized eighteen months out from the electon?

Sorry, no, it wasn’t actually directed at you personally; rather as what seemed like a valid perspective on the thread and forum as a whole.

We didn’t lose them - most of them ran away.

It's all a matter of semantics, isn't it? We still lost them.

I have a lot of respect for many who are now gone.

Sad.
