We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
EV...THAT is the type of info we ALL need to know about any of the candidates...YOU’VE just “lived” it w/him...YOU would know!!!
Thank you.
I visited WA.net just to see what they were saying, since the site is basically old freepers (not all banned). Jim Robinson was right. In fact he may not have gone far enough. They are now accusing us of being the “Deliverance Hillbilly wing of the Republican Party”. I consider myself to be fairly reasonable, but I saw the nastiness they were engaged in here, and tried to overlook it. Now, their true feelings are on open display. Don’t ask me why they were hanging out with us “hillbillies”.
Free Republic is a nicer place since a good portion of them left, and still Free Republic has a wide cross section of opinions and more than a few of the misguided Rudy supporters.
I believe FR will be able to grow from this, rather eye opening experience.
FR, safe for conservatism.
If you’re a conservative, you gotta love it.
You’re welcome. Although, I’m not from MA. I’ve just taken a very close look at his record. And it ain’t pretty. Not if you’re a conservative.
LOL...
“Never turn your back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly and without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half. Never run away from anything. Never!”
-Winston Churchill
Been avoiding going over there. Seems like with all the anger they bubbled up with, it’d be like dipping into a pool of muddy hot water.
Bump for another Excellent Quote!!!
The spiritual armor of God which is described in Ephesians covers all of you but the rear. ;-)
Of course they are. They are no different than the Dem party operatives who demand that blacks vote the Dem straight ticket every election.
Except we ain't going there. You can fly over us. But that does not earn our vote.
Re: Picture of Ronald Reagan [post #12,456]
For what it’s worth, I believe that the picture appears to be in two sections because that is exactly what happened - I can’t be sure of what publication it might have appeared in, but if it were a picture which was split between two pages, the difference in vertical shading would roughly correspond to where the center of the magazine (presuming it was a magazine photo) would be. The difference between the two sides of the picture could be caused by either the original publication not matching each side perfectly, or it could be caused by fading over the years if the photo was scanned from a copy of the original publication.
The shadows look ok to me, and the sunlight appears to be coming from Ron’s right (how appropriate! ;). The grassy areas on either side of the sidewalk mostly match each other.
Now I can’t say for sure who that lady (and the little girl) is, if it isn’t Jane Wyman and Maureen Reagan, the only other possibility would be that this photo is a still PR shot for one of Reagan’s earlier movies.
Just my .02 cents.
I agree!
You are not kidding my FRiend.
Excuse my ignorance, but could you tell me what WA.net is? I’m not familiar with it.
There is room enough for many points of view withing the conservative movement. Unfortunately for conservatives we have a candidate running in a party that purports to support us.
If we sell out and vote for him, we are whores.
If we don’t vote for him, and he wins we are irrelevant.
I won’t be a whore, and I don’t want to be irrelevant. If it is to be, I can find a nice quiet corner of the Earth where the government won’t bother me.
If we let Hillary pick our candidate, she has already won no matter the outcome of the general election. Your whole post was excellent, mkjessup.
Absolutely. Well said.

A lot of vitriolic and abusive FINOs are now there. Enjoying a nice conservative free environment. Suits them.
