Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Their recent performance was so lacking that it got them banned, deservedly, IMO.
Hence, your statement about hoping they came back just didn’t seem right to me.
They knew exactly what they were doing and left a lot of crud in their exit path.

— LOL, You have a very interesting style.

Thanks.

Looked at your homepage: great thing, that parable of the sheepdog. Read it long ago, still like it.

I’m a sheepdog-wannabe hoping I never to meet a wolf. My life has been soooo boring, and I like it that way, I guess. Adventure is overrated.

My children have more than made up for my lack of experience. In a strange reversal of roles, I find they are my heroes.

You believe it to be an insult to say that Free Republic is not representative of the American electorate? Or that a majority is not conservative? Odd.

Yes I know Rudy will be the end of the Conservative Movement if he is elected PotUS.

Actually it might be the demise of the Republican party but not the conservative movement.

Have you noticed how some folks have come into this thread, and started spouting off almost the exact same words as people who were on earlier today and got zotted?

Is there a script they are giving out ?

I agree with Valin. I hope to see some of them back. With a nominee such as Fred running against Hillary, I think that they would be a big asset.

I just fishing for the remark that you made, which is the real Truth.....some think the Rudy will ruin the “Conservative Movement”, but as you pointed out it would be the end of the “Republican Party”

I have noticed that. I noticed that Sonic109 did his/her drive-by earlier and never answered my question, so I went to find him on a couple of threads talking about how HRC was going to get elected President, bla, bla, bla..

Sonic109, will you please answer my question? At least come tell me, no...I won’t answer your question. You’ve answered others.

I’ve been away, and missed quite a few posts. /understatement. I was surprised upon my return to see that Free Republic is still being used for false advertising on behalf of Rudy. I thought the lemmings would be done jumping off the cliff by now.

O.K., so maybe we just anointed him by popular acclaim.

Is that OK by you? Cause if you're not down for the struggle, we need to know right here and now.

Why yes, we’ve noticed!

And the script was dim-witted, short-sighted, and unconvincing the first time they tried it ;’}

“So the American people want abortions federally funded.” The context of that was that IF it was a constitutional right then... Most Americans probably would not support that but I would say that at least 40% would.”

Your earlier contention was that Giuliani’s policies were closer to what American wanted than those at FR.

“So the American people want radical “Act Up” gays influencing our society and exposing our children to this “accepted behavior”.” That is a exaggerated picture of his beliefs in this area. But again there is a large percentage which would agree with your caricature.”

Again numbers favor FR being more in touch than Giuliani.

“So Americans want illegal criminals immigrants getting aid and be protected by mayors like Giuliani all over this country?” That was part of the price of Giuliani being able to reduce the crime rate in NY so most big city dwellers would likely say it was worth it and welfare was not expanded under him but REDUCED. Surely you are aware that the policies of NYC at that time are almost identical with those of large cities all across the Country. Their voters apparently could care less since they keep electing mayors who do exactly the same thing.”

You’re not denying the liberal policy, just giving his rationale.

But I am not defending any of these policies per se and have plenty of disagreements with the Mayor. I have said the same thing all along and that is I just don’t see anyone being able to take the nomination from him given the state of politics in America today. This has apparently become a Thought Crime.

This is the first I’ve seen you take on the issues and say you don’t agree with them. Earlier today you clearly stated that Giuliani’s views were closer to the American people’s view than the FR board.

So, why are you always trying to demonize FR, is it because you lost friends to the zap list. (Listen don’t even answer that, I’m just glad that you are looking at issues)

Didn’t mean to have to ping them in my reply to your post, but that was another example (3rd request now) of the same type of script. Many are just repeating what they see in headlines and hear on TV, honestly...with some, it goes no further than that. Sad, but true.
