Political maverick and Texas House member Ron Paul formally announced his candidacy for the president of the United States this morning during the Washington Journal call-in program on C-SPAN.
Paul stands as one of the last remaining believers in strict enforcement of the Constitution and a limited federal government in Washington D.C. Paul ran unsuccessfully for the White House in 1988 under the Libertarian ticket, but now caucuses with the Republican Party. His political platform includes low taxes, individual liberties and a principled belief in the right to life.
His presidential exploratory committee formed earlier this year stirred up his enormous grassroots support from heartland voters, small government believers and fed-up Republicans who believe current GOP candidates offer no real solutions to an expanding federal government and refuse to tackle America's important issues, such as illegal immigration and an erosion of American's civil liberties.

Ron Paul has committed no Treason.
Under the 2002 State of the Union Address, the United States MUST NOT provide material support to Nations which "harbor terrorists". The Theocratic Islamic thug-regime of Iraq does knowingly, and willfully, harbor self-confessed and even convicted Anti-American Terrorists -- in their Ruling Coalition!
Therefore, RON PAUL is the ONLY 100% Anti-Terrorist candidate.
So the answer to that problem is a guy who allies himself with domestic enemies of the nation? Sorry, we can do better than that on a bad day.
If you're really going to claim it wasn't a surrender vote, it would be gentelmenly of you to answer this question:
You are the operations officer for Al-Qaeda. The United States announces that it will withdraw its troops from Iraq on a timetable from March 2008 to September 2008, and do so no matter what conditions on the ground are. What tactics do you adopt in response?
Calling Emily Litella...
The answer to that is that America is doomed and there really is nothing that can be done to fix that. Just sit back and enjoy the ride to hell, I guess.
so being anti-war makes you a nutjob? The war was won years ago.Saddam and his psychopath sons are taking the eternal dirt nap
If a person is solid on the Constitution and follows their oath to uphold it in every possible way except colluding with domestic enemies of this nation, what does that make them?
Well now, you're either saying that because you believe the country is doomed, or (more likely) because you believe it's doomed if we accept a guy who is not quite as wonderful as Ron Paul.
In the first case, you should not bother posting here. We're looking for fighters.
In the second case, there are plenty of good conservatives out there who are NOT colluding with domestic enemies of this nation. If you are willing to accept a candidate who is colluding with those enemies, then you have no business bemoaning the destruction of the Republic as you decide to spend 2008 ushering it in the front door.
Is this the big, tall black dude who dresses up like a woman? /s
Good deal, glad to be on your side!
HA HA HA. Are you starting up a posse? Gonna start a private army? Who are you going to go shoot? I'd like to know.
I post here because it amuses me.
Should I vote for a good "conservative" like the internationalist GW Bush who seems to want to destroy America's national sovereignty by doing what our "good friend" Mexico wants?
Careful with that, or the entire Singles Thread will be asking if your wife has a younger sister, or you a younger brother.
Cheers!
As I said, Benedict Arnold was a great American until he decided it was time to side with America's enemies.
BTW, in the post 9/11 world, how many countries should we allow to operate hijacker training schools? My answer is zero. What's yours? And if Paul's position on the war is so strong, why does he have to lie about it?
;9)
Thank you for telling the truth....
Terrible timing. He should have run 18 years ago.
Aw, that's so cute, trying to change the subject like that. Here's a clue: George W. Bush is not running for President in '08, and Ron Paul is not the only candidate who supports good immigration policy.
Your chosen candidate has lied about this war from the beginning. He works with people who are enemies of this country. He wants to lose the war in Iraq. Not fight differently, but LOSE. Pack up, go home, give Al Qaeda a new country to operate from.
He is a traitor.
No problem at all, sir.
