The vote to surrender was on Friday.
If you're really going to claim it wasn't a surrender vote, it would be gentelmenly of you to answer this question:
You are the operations officer for Al-Qaeda. The United States announces that it will withdraw its troops from Iraq on a timetable from March 2008 to September 2008, and do so no matter what conditions on the ground are. What tactics do you adopt in response?

You are referring to the "withdrawal date" provision of this bill. I was not aware that was a part of the bill when I made my original comment.
However, isn't it reasonable to consider this argument: consideration of a "withdrawal timetable" makes sense if for no other reason than to force the iraqis to start taking some responsibility for their own country? Maybe a little tough love is in order? I don't know, just a couple of thoughts......
As for your question about being an operations officer for "alqaeda".............
I have no idea, nor do you. All we have is speculation. However I would speculate that if the iraqi military was a larger and better trained fighting force the "insurgent activities" might be repelled. another idea would be for the iraqi's to begin a military draft. Ship a couple of hundred thousand men to Paris Island for six weeks of combat training then send them home to fight for their country.
