WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Democratic-controlled House issued a symbolic rejection of President Bush's decision to deploy more troops to Iraq on Friday, opening an an epic confrontation between Congress and commander in chief over an unpopular war that has taken the lives of more than 3,100 U.S. troops.
The vote on the nonbinding measure was 246-182.
Resolution criticized President Bush for his decision to send more troops to Iraq is a rare admonishment of a wartime commander-in-chief.
"The passage of this legislation signal a change in direction that will end the fighting and bring our troops home," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said before the vote when she endorsed the measure that takes issue with Bush's decision to send an additional 21,500 U.S. troops into battle.

The job of anyone in Congress is to vote according to the majority in their district, or lose come election time.
How would you like a Representative in your area, if the majority are conservatives, voting against the majority and voting any way they please?
That Rep. would not remain in office very long.
Some probably won't even acknowledge Paul's vote as fact. Most of their slime attacks on the other candidates and supporters are generally trite slogans, hateful SPAM, and lacking of real facts/thought.
Then, get rid of the JERK.....I would.

Screw symbolism, I want to see SUBSTANCE. Hear that, Nancygirl? You and all your cowardly buddies, why don't you grow some gonads and actually CUT the funding? Cut it or just STFU with your non-binding gas-passing. Bunch of gutless wonders, every filthy one of 'em.
"Giving up and coming home" is not a strategy for winning.
Ron Paul is my congressman after the last redistricting in Texas.
He is an embarrassment. Please retire, Ron. Texas deserves better.
Hey, at least the losers support my nephew that's currently serving in Baghdad!!!

Listing the defectors, and the two Democrats who have grown.
Isn't that what they are elected to do?
That's fine if the majority in your district all feel that way.
Remember when Treason was taken seriously? Me neither.

I think they should censure him. That always scares the bejeebers out of men that act like men.
I wish I could hit him. Someone needs to smack him upside the head for stabbing our troops in the back. I don't even know could run against him.
Wusses, every one of them.
