Awhile back, we came to our wonderful FR family and asked for prayer for little 2 year old Garrett. He had suffered a seizure and convulsions, and the doctors put him in a coma to let the seizures run their course. He came out of it after a couple of weeks, and has been in physical therapy ever since.
His daddy is in the Navy, and they bent over backwards to help this family with their needs.
Garrett and his mommy were flying from Phoenix back home to San Diego today when Garrett stopped breathing. They made an emergency landing in Yuma, but it was too late. Garrett just didn't make it.
The family is converging on Yuma now, and will be making arrangements in the next few days. I'd ask that those of you so inclined pray for Garrett's family, and mine. Many of you know my granddaughter; her mom and Garrett's mom are like sisters, and this has hit her hard.
Sad news. My thoughts are with his family -- and praying that Piper is able to understand and cope with the sad passing of her friend.
May Garrett rest in God's peace.
Prayers for and condolences to his family and friends.
Prayers , from a Dad
Thank you, from a Dad...grand-dad...friend.
How sad. Prayers going up for the good Lord to comfort the family in this time of sorrow.
With Hope Now you are gone away

Some of these innocents are too good for this world; they belong with their Father in heaven, waiting until we join them in years to come.
We confess that our hearts are broken and that we do not understand. Perhaps one day we will see more plainly when we meet You face to face. But until that glorious time, we must simply trust, knowing that You are sovereign. We commit little Garrett to You, knowing that he can be in no safer place than in the arms of the Loving God who created him. Father, comfort the hearts of his family members. How difficult it must be to let him go home to You; yet surely You know the sorrow of losing a Son. Holy Lord, send forth Your ministering spirits to comfort them and to sustain them as they mourn this precious child. We trust in You, Father, to supply all their needs. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
It's a certain thing that they'll be spared a lot of its heartache.
Smart lad, to slip betimes away
From fields where glory does not stay ...
I am so sorry for the loss of your son. May others gain comfort from you as you extend your support and understanding. God bless you.
We will pray on the air tom.So sorry, fatima
So many people opened their hearts to my wife and I after we lost our little boy that I feel that the least I can do is to try to help others in the same way.
I am not sure if Spider Robinson swiped the quote, but a character in one of his books says, "Shared pain is lessened, but shared joy is multiplied."
May the Lord reward your faithfulness and compassion.
Prayers sent for everyone that this little boy touched.
I feel so bad for Garrett's family. That has to be the worst nightmare in the world.
Has anyone said anything to Piper?
I truly do not know yet...Nana and I asked ourselves the same question.
I can't imagine how or when they will tell her, or what they'll say. How do you tell a 3 year old her buddy is gone?
It will be a very delicate situation all right, but
I know that her parents are wise...as are her Poppa and
Nana, and they will, with God holding their hands, be
able to say the right thing at the right time to that sweet little girl.
It's just so, so sad!
Garrett already had an angelic smile, what a sweetheart. Prayers for Piper and the whole family during this time.
They really need to see all the supplications for their assurance of GOD's unending AGAPE from all their Earthly and one day Heavenly Brothers and Sisters in the body of our Lord GOD above.
I'm sorry about your son; so sad.
