Mr. Moore hasn't been in the media much lately; so I guess he had to make some kind of pronouncement to give the mainstream media something to salivate over...and to get some financial backing for whatever his next piece of garbage media event is going to be.

I can only think of one word for this guy: Coward.

Dead, along with their families. We are trying to fight these terrorists with a minimum of innocent lives lost. When large groups of people threatened Saddam, he just gassed their whole village. Would Moore prefer we just nuke Tikrit?
This same thing happened in the former Yugoslavia. Tito kept the warring factions in check through quite brutal means, and they started wholesale fighting as soon as he was gone.
The Dems will split on the War.
Those whose synapses actually fire will see that withdrawal is strategically unacceptable. Those for whom rationality long ago left the building will require immediate withdrawal.
Look for a political bloodbath in that party. This is McGovern v. Scoop Jackson all over again.
I predict anti-war protesters to take it to the Dems for the next two years, to the detriment of their party. Michael Moore and his ilk will become disillusioned (with the rational Dems), and leave the party for a splinter A.N.S.W.E.R.-inspired third party.

I think you know it isn't that simple. The Democrats, who voted to give Bush the authority to attack Iraq, who voted for a declaration of 21 points why Saddam should be removed, have been successful in selling the American public the lie: "Bush took us to war based on the lie of Saddam's WMD'd"!
Its tough to fight a lazy, uninformed citizenry that will buy a total rewrite of history only 2 years after the fact.
I haven't seen such suicidal mindless eat-your-own hysterical threats from the lunatic fringe since ... RINO season was declared on this very forum and we lost control of the Senate by purging the likes of Senator DeWine.

Uhm, Earth to Mikey: Congress already voted for this war. Please recall the Democrats demanded the opportunity, Bush gave it to them. Fearing the 2002 midterms, they voted for the war anyway. And then declared it a dirty trick by Bush.
Only if Bush holds firm. If the Democrats are forced to vote to withhold funds they will split and lose, but I'm not sure Bush won't back down first.
And they seem just as "happy" as Mikey, don't they? :-)
