From an OSU alumni, this will take some of the joy out of tomorrow's game for me. Bo was a great coach and a great man. The Buckeye-Wolverine rivalry hasn't been the same since the last Woody-Bo matchup.

GO BUCKS!

My daughter, who played BB for Ohio State from 97-01, and I had a long conversation about Bo's passing this evening.

We talked about life, legends, and just about everything else.

Bo's passing puts all of it in perspective. Sports are great. With my daughter's hard work, devotion to accademics, and determination to succeed.... it gave her opportunies and memories that will last us for a lifetime.

That's what Bo stood for, just as Woody did, and Coach Tressel, and I'm sure Lloyd Carr.

As "pumped up" as I have been about the game tomorrow, at the end of the day, it's just a game. I will be proud of my Buckeyes nomatter what the outcome.

Life is a game, and this is the great game of Big
Ten college football. You can't make up the drama of this event. Bo and Woody might just shake before the game tomorrow. God bless Bo and the Schemblechler's, and God bless Woody and his family as well.

Good luck tomorrow and may the best team win.

Go Blue!

Amen, my friend. One thing we know, one Big Ten team WILL win tomorrow, and represent our conference well. If my beloved Buckeyes lose, I won't be quite as sad, considering the events of the day.

Good luck to you, and my condolences for the loss of your team's legendary coach.

Rest in peace, Bo.

I hope Woody is the first to greet you.

They will be arm wrestling during "The Game".

My favorite Bo Schembechler episode was during the '76 election campaign. President Ford was invited to meet with the team in the locker room. When Jimmy Carter requested to do the same thing, Bo told him, "NO! You never played football for the maize and blue."

"My favorite Bo Schembechler episode, because it showed his single-minded focus on what he did, occurred when he was the AD and Bill Frieder announced shortly before the NCAA basketball tournament that he was going to leave and coach at Arizona State. Schembechler said that if he wasn't loyal to the maize and blue he could just go ahead and leave now, and the assistant Steve Fisher coached the team in the tournament. Amazingly, they won it all. But Schembechler attended the regionals and was amazed at how many people were there. He said that he had no idea that the basketball tournament was that big -- it was almost as big a deal as the Rose Bowl, he said."

Why no mention of the $616,000 paid to the players on that team? Why no mention of Ed martin? The FBI Investigation that eventually forced a corrupt athletic department to remove banners from their arena?

I have respect for Bo and have sympathy for his family and friends, but he was the AD, and that crime against amateurism was on HIS watch - and it certainly isn't anything to be proud of.

Ummmmm....you're totally misrepresenting here. The scandal you are talking about happened years later, when the so called fab 5 came. No payments were made to the players of the NCAA champion team from that year and no banners have been taken down, nor has it ever been suggested by anyone they cheated.

Please get your facts straight.

Bo was a true conservative, backing conservative candidates when he could. He just had some ads in the past election for conservative candidates for UM regency.

Congratulations. That was a great game. A rematch would produce the same result, IMHO.

Woody and Bo have had to shake on this one.
