Charlie Rangel opens his mouth...and mocks the South: (hat tip: reader CRB)
Its not just committees our influence within the House Democratic caucus will grow enormously, Mr. Rangel said in an interview.
To that end, he sketched out an expansive federal agenda: Teaming up with Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg on gun control, passing new tax incentives for urban job programs, and redirecting federal money to New York in return for the outsize tax collections that the federal government makes here.
Mississippi gets more than their fair share back in federal money, but who the hell wants to live in Mississippi? Mr. Rangel said.
Our #2 son is in Grad School in Austin, and even with all the places he can shop there, he really misses Trader Joe's. There is a Whole Foods Market, but he thinks the prices are much higher. That's the coolest thing about Trader Joe's, they have better prices on basic stuff like milk, eggs and cereal than even large supermarkets!
I love my state, but the 'Rats and RINOs are doing us in, especially Upstate :(
New York Is Losing People at Fastest Pace in America
Flight of Young Adults Is Causing Alarm Upstate (NY)
Note to the nation: Keep voting for 'Rats and RINOs and all this, too, can be Yours...
Sigh.
I've been looking for anyone who has put together a pictorial of who is going to be leading which committee so I can email it to some of my more informed friends/ family. A picture is often worth a thousand words.
A friend of mine, a pattern maker who had worked in the garment industry of NYC, lost her job awhile back because the patterns are simply sent to China. She has still been out of work.
Guess everything will be sent to China for cheaper pretty soon.
No, we send people like Trent "If I Only Had A Spine" Lott.
Heck, I have been knocked off line all afternoon. I finally called Bellsouth and they fixed it! I am such a computer whiz. LOL
Come on down! Y'all will love it!
I'm an old-time Californian living in Virginia who has lived in NYC and spent a little time in Vicksburg. What is it with people with their car horns in NYC? Good grief- if the NYPD enforced noise regulations as rigorously as they do for parking, NYC would be a much nicer place to live. I couldn't stand the constant, blaring racket.
I liked Vicksburg. Quiet town on the banks of the Missouri River. Lots of history. Probably should have stayed there.
Around one million of the people living in Mississippi are African-Americans. One gets the impression that Rangel thinks they are just as stupid as the white folks down there!
(Or maybe he thinks they're held in slavery and can't leave?)
Because us former conservative upstaters have bolted for the south and many from down state and the island have moved upstate because they screwed up where they live.
Well if you're exporting conservatives, send a few to the inter-mountain west. We need them to balance out the Californicators moving in. They are why Burns lost in MT.
I live in NYC, and both a Trader Joe's and a Whole Foods opened up, just one block apart. It would be fun to watch the competition.
Uh, that should be 'Mississippi'. Sorry. Too much happening today. That's my excuse, and I'm stickin' to it.
First they complain about white flight and it causing the neighborhood and schools to fail. Then they complain when whitey moves back in.
LOL! Just issued a red-faced correction in the previous post.
I'm a Civil War buff- I really enjoyed the battlefield park and the USS Cairo. I was hot on the trail of an ancestor of mine at the time- turned out he was killed defending Atlanta and he was BNR.
Because he tried to get his office in Manhattan in some of the most expensive real estate in America and even the democrats had to shoot down that expense request. So he retreated to Harlem where, according to him (meaning he is lying), he wanted to be to begin with.
Oh- and an early Happy Birthday, brother.
