Heck, the Alito appointment should have been enough to bring every social conservative to the polls.

Thanks Michael Weiner and the rest of you one issue "conservatives". How does your Borders, Langauge and Culture cliche strike you now. But Weiner can go on his radio show now and sell a few more books and bloviate. Now the only thing left is the Presidency and any congressmen that have the balls enough to filibuster the crap out of any foolishness the Communists have in store. If I were Bush I'd go on TV tomorrow night and say..."America you have spoken and you have chosen the road of appeasment and defeat. Being an accomodating guy I am going to oblige you and order all our troops home immediately from Iraq and ask the Iraqi parliament to free Saddam Hussein immediately. I am going to ask congress to repeal my tax cuts ASAP and raise taxes on all businesses with gross incomes over $100,000. I am also by executive order going to ask for the dissolution of the Homeland Security department and defer all law enforcement in the war on terror to local police departments. I hope this makes you all happy, I am resigning immediately to the ranch at Crawford, chumps!"

Don't you remember the Iraqi's braving the belligerents in their own neighborhoods to vote? All those African dictatorships began with elections, before reaching their natural level. It is called One Man, One Vote, Once. We got an election run in Haiti too. The population eventually gets the government it deserves.

I've been a member of the FR since 1998, and in the past 18 months I have seen many disgusted conservative posts. Basically, it's immigration and deficit spending that bugs them.
The elections are so close that even a few disgusted conservatives voting (or not voting) their feelings is enough to tilt it the other way.
Finally, Iraq looks like a mistake to a lot of people.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...I see that you are looking in a mirror, as you type. Okay, I can agree with that; yes, YOU are an idiot.

Not much satisfaction if Talent goes down and we lose the Senate.

Talent lost KC (the city) by 50,000 votes. He lost St. Louis the city by 50K as well. McCaskill is up, but outstate Mo still has lots of votes while the cities are done for the most part.

I can't wait to hear the 'I told you so' crap from Beck, Ingraham, Savage and other alleged conservative hosts tomorrow. What they fail to realize is, they are part of the problem. Instead of giving conservatives ideas on how to fight, they chose the 'teach them a lesson' route.
There is no lesson when everyone loses.

There are at least 3 dozen Democrats in the House who know that voting to cut and run in the WOT would mean they're out of a job come 2008. The Dems do not have the votes to cut funding for the WOT.

I agree.
We could even see CCW laws revoked all across the country.
I feel sick to my stomach over all this...

"The Mier nomination was the same way. Bush was not supported."
Yup, and we conservatives saved Bush's butt on that one. Can anyone imagine a weaker candidate than Miers now?
To: KsSunflower
I'm still so baffled how KS became so liberal...of all states! I was astonished when I moved back home from Los Angeles to see all the libs and RINOs. So sad.

The GOP needs to earn our support. The 1994 Revolution degenerated into the 2005 circus. So now we need a new revolution. Is that such a bad thing? Yes it is. If we also lose the Senate, we will pay a terrible price. I never bought the utter bullshit that 1992 actually worked out good and that we wouldn't have gotten 1994 otherwise. It might have taken a few more years, but we now have Chinese nuke missiles targeted at us, among a multitude of other travesties resulting from 8 years of Clinton packing every agency and post from the Supreme Court to the seditious CIA. Far too high a price to pay, thanks to bratty purists 'sending a message' in 1992.
