Please Mods can we have one central Live thread ...its tough jumping from thread to thread to get results.
Peg...you are spot on. Jim Ryun took this thing for granted. If you didn't catch his name on Nancy Boyda's commercials, you would have no idea against whom she was running. A real disappointment.
I still believe conservativism is alive and well...not just in our state, but in this country. This was a "party" loss, the dems had to put up conservatives to finally win. I take solace in that.
You're blaming the "Evangelicals"? I can't tell if you're serious (and seriously mistaken) or just playing. If you're serious, perhaps next you'll blame the jooooos?
What "middle"? There is no middle. There's only those who can't make up their minds.
There is a horde of people sitting around like twitching slugs. I bet it is 35% of the population. I know many of them.
And what about the african-american population. They are not well informed voters at all. They are zombies to the rats and their media whores.
The media absolutely handed the rats the congress.
And the illegals, et al, are swelling the ranks of the unions.
Ta da!
You think propaganda doesn't work? You think 75% of the US gets news from the internet?
Best way is to turn them off. We made them, we can break them.
folks anyone know about the Washington State congressional races....their site is too slow to find out any ansers...
Tester 53%
Burns 45%
slight improvement but not fast enough
My problem is when people get accused of that simply for being pragmatic. The country simply isn't as far to the right as we are (this *is*, FR, of course, what do we expect?) If we want 50%+1 we have to win people over. In some parts of the country that often means compromise.
I was tempted to make a crack that the US doesn't all lie south of the Mason-Dixon line but as I think about it I think it's more of a rural-vs.-urban issue. I think the problem plaguing PA and VA tonight is the bleeding of Philly and Washington into the rural areas of affluent, "sophisticated" social libs. I don't think there's any winning them over -- we need to outbreed them.
WOT might not be talked about, but it won't go away...our enemies won't let it. The Jihad continues no matter what.
When I said last weekend that this was probably going to happen, I nearly got drummed off this forum.
And add to that the ever-increading number of people sucking off government teat and there you have it.
Damned UNAPPEASABLES and grotty little people, whose "feelings" were hurt, because they weren't picked to be in TEAM BUSH.
You're an idiot.
OK, my bad. I just assumed it was included in the Jackson County totals. Thanks for the heads up.
And my son graduated from RIT. :)
But even if they have a small minority in the House (which is, btw, an historic LOSS for the opposition party who gain typically 40 or so seats), they will not have the ability to create veto proof legislation that will harm our troops or the war on terror.
Remember Murtha's get out of Iraq bill that got, what? 3 votes in the House?
Other than an ego boost this will do nothing for them. But it WILL result in a loss of the conservative agenda of the House Republicans.
I wonder if Malkin is gloating about that?
