John Kerry Responding to Republican Distortions, Pathetic Tony Snow Diversions and Distractions

Washington Senator John Kerry issued the following statement in response to White House Press Secretary Tony Snow, assorted right wing nut-jobs, and right wing talk show hosts desperately distorting Kerrys comments about President Bush to divert attention from their disastrous record:
If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they're crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. Im sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did.
Im not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Foxs Parkinsons disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq. It disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have.
The people who owe our troops an apology are George W. Bush and Dick Cheney who misled America into war and have given us a Katrina foreign policy that has betrayed our ideals, killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it. These Republicans are afraid to debate veterans who live and breathe the concerns of our troops, not the empty slogans of an Administration that sent our brave troops to war without body armor.
Bottom line, these Republicans want to debate straw men because theyre afraid to debate real men. And this time it wont work because were going to stay in their face with the truth and deny them even a sliver of light for their distortions. No Democrat will be bullied by an administration that has a cut and run policy in Afghanistan and a stand still and lose strategy in Iraq.

I noted earlier in another thread that there was NOTHING on the DU about the remarks Kerry made, HOWEVER, this is a pretty big thread on his response...wanna see insanity at it's worst?? http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x2525839
That IS insanity. I skimmed the comments for a negative one, but didn't see one. This is further proof that libs are emotional, not rational creatures.

If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq Ummm, he's got quite a history of doing just that - hasn't it been fun today watching him dig the hole deeper?

You think that ugly puss in Kerry's college photo is "maliciously" photoshopped?
Even if you have managed to get thru' the past few years without seeing it, did you ever think of GOOGLE-ING it before you accuse someone?
Sorry - but this ugly puss is Kerry - and there are others that even worse. 'Ever think this narcissistic pimp might have had a nose job since? (Actually, he needs a character transplant - altho' I doubt there's enough anti-rejection medicine to keep it from reversing.) The truth may be ugly - but, like Kerry's ugly statement: the truth is the truth.

LOL! Before you maliciously accuse me of maliciously accusing someone else of photoshopping JF'nK's college yearbook pic, consider that I was maliciously accusing JFK of getting a vanity nose job in a satirical way.
Apparently I botched the joke, but no way will I apologize to you or any FReeper!

<>You even sound like Kerry - you keep trying to twist the obvious, flat out - on tape - truth of what he said - in plain, unambiguous words that cannot be misunderstood no matter how you try to 'nuance' it...
You keep defending him - meow

The AP forgot to include the scaaaaaaaaariest potential Dim committee chairman ...
INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE: Alcee Hastings, D-FL
Yes, THAT Alcee Hastings -- the one who was impeached and removed from his position as a judge for BRIBERY, CONSPIRACY, and PERJURY. (And then elected congressman from Florida!)

Kerry is probably looking at the leftist CNN's online polls where only 24% think he should apologize, but the thing is, CNN's American audience is small and made up mostly of liberals, so that poll doesn't mean much. What I would like to know is what people throughout the country have to say about Kerry. With all the hate mongering, Bush trashing and daily gloom and doom, I don't believe Americans have contempt for the troops, nor would take a direct insult to them lightly. I don't believe that one bit.
I need to finish grading papers and preparing tomorrow's classes. I'll be back a bit later.

You may want to note that many of America's top corporate officers are ex-military. General Motor's Bob Lutz (Vice Chairman) and Jim Queen (VP Global Product Development) for example.
Many of the electrical engineers I worked with were ex-military as well. Excellent work ethic and very sharp.

The alleged Americans in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts who keep electing this twit and the senior twit (Kennedy) should be ashamed of themselves. Really, deeply, depressingly ashamed of themselves. There is no excuse anymore for these two un-American Stalinists to hold public office. I have nothing but contempt for you people, of all political stripes.

Chris Matthews has been blowing hard with the proposition that Kerry's comments were taken out of context. Matthews has also backed the contention that the context of the speech was about Bush's failures and that therefore Kerry was referring to Bush not the Soldiers. It dosen't make sense, especially when you consider that Kerry prefaced his comments by saying exactly "I am here to discuss Education but before I get into that (then he makes his quote about studying). SO........... whatever the context of the speech, Kerry himself exempeted these comments by setting it apart and saying "before I get into that...."
It is clear that when you do get into the context, that there is no way to twist this statement (or botched joke as Kerry states) and turn this into a comment on Bush and not the soldiers. Verbatum he stated to the students that YOU need to study.....and if not YOU (Not Bush) will end up in Iraq. IN SHORT THOSE THAT END UP IN IRAQ ARE THE LOOSERS IN SOCIETY.
If this is a botched joke, he should be called to task and unbotch it and restate it where it comes out that it is Bush that didn't study and Bush that didn't work hard and Bush that ended up in Iraq. (side note, I believe it was Bush that did study and got a MBA from Harvard and got higher grades than Kerry, therefore, the "not studying" or getting good grades and getting Smart would point more towards Kerry than Bush. HE IS A PATHETIC LIAR that won't account for his own comments. BTW, is a joke an excuse for denegrating a large group of Americans. DO YOU THINK that if a Republican was "Joking" and used the N-word and later said it was a "botched joke" that it would be excused without and apology or even with an apology for that matter.

John just be a man and admit you made a foolish statement. Apologize and move on.
I'd say that this was a bit past foolish. Anyone who expects to be a candidate, again, for POTUS surely knows that every word is crucial when the press is near by. His words were indicative of a sloppy, elitist who doesn't have what it takes to pilot a canoe, much less the ship of state.
His immediate response to go onto the attack after the Pub's fairly called him on his spectacularly stupid mistake and/or heartfelt comments is but another indication of his lack of judgment. He is through, and hopefully he has energized the Pubs at the Rat's expense.
IMHO, the arrogant Kerry will move on to the political trash heap, where he belongs.
