It wouldn't suprise me if the chapel eventually will be converted into a mosque.

The cross will be returned to the altar for those who wish to use it for events, services or private prayer

Hey you guys in charge of that brilliant decision: - You had better remove that altar, as well.

Madness.

Absolutely absurd.

Disgusting.

And a whole lot of cuss words I can't use because we are talking about a cross and a chapel.

Pretty good thread already running on the topic. Yours is a WND daily source, so it's not a dupe.

I dont' see why a nondenominational chaple should have a cross. It if was a mulit-denominational chaple for use by Christians, sure, but a nondenominational chaple shouldn't have decor specific to one set of faith.

"It wouldn't suprise me if the chapel eventually will be converted into a mosque."

Or a synagogue, perhaps. Last I heard, the Jews don't believe in the symbol of the cross, either.

Is there anyone left who thinks that the left doesn't fully 100% support the goals of the jihadists?

Well: they had better rename the school, while they are at it. King William III and Queen Mary II were champions of the Protestant faith who came to power after the Glorious Revolution. If students at the school were to find out about this, all Hell might break loose.

Of course, thanks to their communist professors, there's not much danger of today's students learning anything substantive about history. Most of them probably think the school was named after Bill Gates and his wife.

2nd oldest college in the USA, founded long before the USA itself, founded as a CHRISTIAN (specifically Anglican) institution, and now W & M can no longer allow the cross to be displayed in its historic 300 year old chapel?????

This is total insanity and depravity.

Just wait, next the Cathedral de Notre Dame in Paris will have to strip away all Christian reference to become a "non-denominational" edifice, welcoming to all religions....

I understand why they did this. The cross resembles Christ and what he did for those saved by Grace. It also resembles moral absolutes. The cross is an attack against free love sodomites and all the moral relativists. You can't have something that resembles the true and narrow path now can you? Besides, College is to be the place where you further your study in the beauty of sodomy based relationships, Marxism, and Darwinism. It cannot be used to advance believers walk with Christ. (sarcasm off)

1Cor.1
[17] For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
[18] For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
Gal.5
[11] And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
Gal.6
[12] As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.
[14] But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
Eph.2
[16] And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
Phil.2
[8] And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Phil.3
[18] (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
Col.1
[20] And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Col.2
[14] Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Heb.12
[2] Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

I would not enter a "chapel" nor associate where there is shame to display the cross.

The most important thing is that the removal of this cross is understood as a gesture to Diversity. Therefore, to mark this august occasion, next week they should invite a VooDoo priestess with a bottle of rum and a bloody chicken foot. The following week, as a gesture of friendship to those in the muslim community, they should invite an imam to extoll the virtues of honor killings and the beheading of Christian infidels. The week after that...

Death by a thousand cuts.
