maybe a traffic helicopter? Helicopters over Manhattan are as numerous as mosquitos over the Everglades.A copter sure beats enduring FDR Drive for a rich businessman.

Shep is saying that it was a helicopter.
A black helocopter?
Seriously this could be an accident or it could be a copycat like the young muslim kid in Tampa who flew a light plane into an empty office building right after 9-11-01.

I hate those DU bastards.
That being said, it looks like an accident to me.

"How could you fly into a building of this size by accident?"
By accident.

Now it makes more sense. I didn't know it was a helicopter when I posted. It must have been leaving or going to a heliport.

(I'm not insensitive, I just don't care.)
Witness on MSNBC said that it didn't look like the copter or plane was aiming for the building, but appeared to be in distress and striking more of a glancing blow. Was descending at a steep angle, with an odd noise.
But of course Freepers who weren't there will immediately claim that the gov't is covering up a terrorist act.

I read your headline out loud to my daughter. She instantly responded, "This is 10-11." Spooky.

My mom just called me to ttell me about this - she lived two blocks away from this location at 72nd/Park - I guess this was 72nd/York, on departure from LaGuardia.
God bless them.

Or any businessman for that matter. I don't know many people who wouldn't fork over the $100 to get to one of the airports from Manhattan during rush hour.

Well, my point is that since there's no clear indication that it was an airplane vs. a helicopter, isn't it a bit premature to make any kind of judgments vis a vis terrorism either way?

Eyewitnesses report what appears to be an aircraft in trouble before hitting building. Unclear whether it was a small plane or helicopter, per various NYC newscasts.
