Thank you GarryOwen2006 for that update.
OH Wow rack it Garry
btt
didnt chia head claim that any sort of sanctions means war?
Yes...a full naval blockade against the country and Kim would call it an act of war against the country and retaliate.
Well, well, well. This is interesting.
And the phony dance continues, to the strains of a Cantonese tune. And China once again looks like the reasoned party, the straight man to Kim Jong-Il's fanatic. And we all play along. What a farce.
He should have thought about that before he tested...
Sounds like the little Korean Pot-bellied pig might have screwed the pooch.
hmmm wonder if it was still a fake nuke... lol
We now know that we have a window of time in which to deal with a North Korea that has played its cards before the world: It wants ICBM tech and it wants nuclear weaponry and obviously has the will to use both even in defiance of its allies in Beijing. NoKos will to defy should have also awakened South Korea and killed off its misguided Sunshine policy for good. But while we know what NoKo will do, we also know what it cant do, yet, and thats put a working nuke on a working ICBM and either use that weapon or sell it. NoKo doesnt have either the working ICBM or the working nuke. But its working on both, and has data to point it in the direction of obtaining both.
The window in which we can deal with a non-nuclear, non-ICBM North Korea is probably very short, probably less than a year and no more than 18 months. The US has cards to play, including the Japan card, now the South Korea card and even the Taiwan card in convincing China that it is in its interests to deal with Kim Jong-Il. Since North Korea has shown its hand and how it intends to behave, the US is in a stronger position now than it was in yesterday to get serious international action mustered against Pyongyang. And it may be true now that China may finally see Kim for what he is, which is an uncontrollable menace that sits right on Chinas border. With the Chinese ambition to be seen as a real world leader, and with the Olympics coming to Beijing in 2008 and with Taiwan possibly slipping away for good if North Korea isnt dealt with, China may finally be ready to work its hand. Well find out shortly.
It's past time we stand up against this little tyrant and show him who is boss. If he tries to start war then flatten Pyongang and be done with his evil twisted self.
Let the naval blockade begin.
Yeah remember 2008 olympics is around the corner do you think China going allow Chia Pet go uncheck during this time to 2008 Olympics come think of it I DOUBT IT
The news reported earlier tonite that China had warned NK again, as late as last Thursday, to not do it.
They are not pleased. China is rapidly modernizing with a growing middle class. People are happy to get TV's. A happy people makes them happy with the government.
Anything that threatens the stability of the area potentially could upset the current status quo.
And the government knows that. Kim basically signed his own resignation papers by doing what he did.
Why?
Are the sanctions going to have teeth? be watered down? have the Chinese finally believed he's uncontrollable even by them?
Since China is involved, I'll wait and see for the answers.
More like a death warrant. Kim is really lucky if he gets out of this crisis alive.
Where does it say there will be a full naval blockade?
