According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

I think I actually took it from his post. At the time I wrote it I thought I was original, but then I remember last night before I went to sleep at like 4am that I read that line somewhere on here! So in reality, I may have taken it from him. but thanks for noticing.

haha I am nervous! I get into a pissing match with a well established member who warns me that I might not be around long and I get posts warning of my suspicious activity!
Computer forensics...I know that even if you shoot a computer, you can probably recover the contents of a hard drive...I think that was on Law and Order once...but beyond that...

Most of you are trying to make something out of this but the bottom line is Foley is a pervert and deserved to be outed and anyone who protected him deserves the same in my estimation.
The Dems are playing it for all its worth but we gave them the ammo folks.

Didn't say that Foley didn't need to be outed, it was the method that is cruel. Not protecting him for his crime, he needs to get what is coming to him, although no one even know what THAT is, but protecting the person who was the at the receiving end of a nasty "prank" is humane. We'd do it for a dog.
