You know, I've ignored this most of the night but I'm going to just say this once because it keeps being regurgitated by a few.
As much as it would please some for this to happen that have an inordinate amount of dislike for them but seem to have no issue at all with econimic conservatives or Hawkish conservatives that exert great influence as well...ain't happening. If they wanted to destroy the GOP, they easily could encourage their members sit home. They haven't done that, and the GOP insiders have noted as much and given due credit in one of the articles posted about here.
And, btw, the rats wouldn't wail at the GOP losing the "religious right". They'd cheer. That's what they intended to happen with this stunt, and it has not.

I haven't seen anybody say they want Foley back. His acts were dispicable, and I don't care that they might have been legal.
But finding another 26-year-old who says there was sexual IMs AFTER THEY WERE DONE BEING A PAGE just shows again that maybe Foley wasn't abusing pages, and there was nothing republicans could "catch" and "punish" him for.
He hired that same lawyer that Timothy McViegh had ...

Before the election? No. But I'd say this is a better reason to resign than complimenting an old man who ran for President in 1948. Hastert has had the job way too long by now. I think we need some fresh blood anyway.

BTW...I posted on Levin's thread, I think...that Deborah Pryce, Ohio Rep. had demanded an investigation into allegations that Foley was drunk and trying to get into the Page's Dormitory...
Well...Pryce IS an (R)..sheesh...and, this was found out supposedly by overhearing a conference call between GOP leadership today, I believe....it was mentioned.
