Attorney: Foley Was Molested as a Teen by a Clergyman

WASHINGTON — Former Rep. Mark Foley was molested between the ages 13 and 15 by a clergyman, his attorney Mark Roth told reporters late Tuesday.

Foley also wants Americans to know that he is a gay man but he never had sexual contact with a minor, Roth said. Foley was admitted on Saturday night to a mental health facility, where he will remain for at least 30 days.

Roth said Foley wanted to release the name and religious affiliation where his alleged molestation occurred, but was advised by civil counsel to delay naming names at this time. However, details of the clergyman, the timeframe and the situation will be released when counsel advises Foley to do so.

Well, there you go! He's a victim and automatically, unequivocally afforded protection status from the libs, isn't he?

At the least, it was alcohol induced mutual titillation/curiosity between participants, following to corruption of a minor, to (maybe likely) a setup by the minor.

Regardless, he deserves no mercy, for want of common sense, decency, and his oath of office.

I don't see a reason that the leadership should be held responsible unless they actually had the IMs, and it won't change my vote in November..

Just saw it on the MSM. Fox has a headline, but no details.

Foley's lawyer is admitting Foley is gay, and blaming it on molestation by a clerical personage.

Are we setting up the defense of criminal charges or what?

For the sake of his party, and his own defense, Foley needs to switch parties to the Dem.s right away. Then he can just walk like Barney Frank.

"According to wiki, he tried running as a Democrat for a while and switched parties when that wasn't working out for him"

Interesting...

The gay community will have nothing to do with him, IMO. They didn't exactly roll out the red carpet for McGreasey, and he was one of their own (democrat).

Being on Oprah is not the homosexual community rolling out the red carpet for him?

I think this is looking really bad for gays and the gay agenda. Worse than for the Repubs.

Good.

Well, if they were 16 in 2001 and 2003, do the math.

I see.

Foley fatigue is setting in amongst the public and it'll only get worse as Dems and the media keep pushing.

She was pretty cute in the last couple of seasons. That's me speaking from when I was a kid growing up watching it, not some Foley thing going on. She's older than me, at any rate. :)

Gays love him and they call the guy who said he was sexually harassed by him as a bs'er.
