Attorney: Foley Was Molested as a Teen by a Clergyman
WASHINGTON Former Rep. Mark Foley was molested between the ages 13 and 15 by a clergyman, his attorney Mark Roth told reporters late Tuesday.
Foley also wants Americans to know that he is a gay man but he never had sexual contact with a minor, Roth said. Foley was admitted on Saturday night to a mental health facility, where he will remain for at least 30 days.
Roth said Foley wanted to release the name and religious affiliation where his alleged molestation occurred, but was advised by civil counsel to delay naming names at this time. However, details of the clergyman, the timeframe and the situation will be released when counsel advises Foley to do so.

Yeah. So what? I was molested by a priest as well as a kid, but it didn't force me to go out and slurp on young boys.
Boy, that sure pisses me off.

Ah no. He spent many many years voting for all the right things, a good solid Republican on the surface.
Dims are too dumb to have that kind of "sleeper" agent. This guy is just plain deviant, unfortunately with an R next to his name.

As far as Mark Foley goes he never raped a boy which is a lot better that I can say about lots of the scum that infest this great nation. And most of such scum have probably gotten away with their crimes of pedophilia and child rape. None of Foley's victims have been traumatized for life because there was no physical contact (so his attorney claimed tonite)
Foley is a creep. I'm just putting this into perspective

Why do you hate America? Why do you ask that? The blame culture is very pervasive here. What does that have to do with hating America? I don't get it?

no joke. Wonkette yesterday had a picture of him receiving a leather bound copy of Dianetics at a Scientology gathering. He has shown up to their center in LA too.
To: ableLight
He's making a fool out of himself. Ok, maybe he was molested by a pervert priest (not all priests are perverts obvi.) He probably liked it anyway...he's acting stupid. He should stop making an ass out of himself..take responsibility for his sick behavior and get help.
To: ladyinred
Exactly. And not "ok" with the rest of America. Game, set, match. Let's get their true "proclivities" out in the open. Get them defending homosexuality and pedophilia on a big-time level.
Then watch the election returns roll in.

The Menendez defense. That's just great.
Can't the republicans form a mob and string this guy from the rotunda?

JMO, but i think this scandal has jumped the shark as an earlier poster stated.
Tony Blankley and the Wash Times tried to give it CPR by tying in Hastert, but most conservatives ain't buying that, especially with the Oprah like antics by foley going on now.
The big loser on the right won't be Hastert, IMO, but Tony Blankley and the Wash Times.

Ah no. He spent many many years voting for all the right things, a good solid Republican on the surface.I live south of Foley's district and knew he was gay. The local talk show said as much. His voting record was good

It has nothing to do with a crime, it is all about the accusations. And now they can go after republicans and clergy; kind of a two for one thing.
To: Dane
IIRC, he grew up Catholic and is now a scientologist.I rate it a 35% possibility that he's at a Scientology run treatment center right now

The sloppy quality of reporting on this October surprise is almost as disappointing to me as Mr. Foley's behavior.
Sadly, most of the press is not interested in the truth.
Miles O'Brien recently cited the movie "Day after tomorrow" as proof of global warming.
They do not care about the facts, just the effects.

"Where is the crime here? Can somebody tell me where the crime is if the facts are as we know them now, that he IM'd boys of legal age?"Exactly! If this is it, if the facts are in the details of the IMs then it looks like he is guilty of "porn-talking". Its ugly, twisted and perverse but has anyone claimed actual, physical contact ? Were the IM recipents current or former pages when these "exchanges" occured ?
