I’m hearing all kinds of disturbing, though predictable, stories about a Clintonista offensive against “The Path to 9/11,” an ABC documentary written and produced by Cyrus Nowrasteh ("Into the West"), and directed by David Cunningham ("To End All Wars"). I haven’t seen it yet (although I hope to this weekend), but it is already drawing rave reviews from people who have (the piece is reviewed at FrontPage, here).
Apparently, the documentary recounts the bureaucratic bungling and lack of action against al Qaeda that was pervasive prior to the September 11 atrocities. It is by no means, I understand, pro-Bush. It is, instead, an effort to present history accurately. This evidently has many former Clinton officials and apologists in their default kill-the-messenger mode. Great pressure is being brought to bear on ABC and Disney to reopen the editorial process at this late stage (the documentary is supposed to air on September 10-11) so that the years 1993-2001 may remain forever airbrushed.
Will they succeed? This bears watching.
I didn't read the whole thing but with people like Jamie Gorelick,BenVeniste, etc.,what would you call ?They didn't even accept the evidence of Slick Willy admitting(on tape0that he had let BinLaden slip through his fingers!!!

ABC: 9/11 Miniseries "Locked and Ready"
09/01 03:42 PM - The Markup
I followed up on Andy's Corner post this morning by calling ABC, and was told by a spokeswoman that the "Path to 9/11" miniseries is "locked and ready to air," and that she hadn't heard anything about a pressure campaign to reopen the editing process. She said that she would check around and get back to me, but that a lot of people have already left for vacation. I'll post updates if they come, but it looks like "Path" is safe from Clinton mischief for now.

ABC's "The Path to 9/11"

Andy McCarthy is hearing that fans of the feckless Clinton Adminstration are unhappy with ABC's "The Path to 9/11" which airs on the nights of September 10th and 11th, and he fears that last minutes editing will be performed to keep the former president happy.
I am skeptical. For one thing, that sort of Soviets-on-top-of-the-Kremlin doctoring of photos, or in this case, films in the can would disgust even left-wing Hollywood.
On a more practical note. I, and I am sure many others, have been sent the entire six hour program to preview and review, which I will be doing over the weekend. Edits post-distribution of the review DVDs would invite scrutiny of the very portions sent down the black hole, underscoring the episodes the censors hoped to hide.
No, I don't think ABC would injure its brand that way, and certainly not when they couldn't get away with it.
Instapundit concurs: "It seems to me that enough people have previewed it already that the consequences for ABC of making changes at this point would be disastrous."
The early reviews are very strong for the docudrama based on the 9/11 Commission report. The friends of Bill may not like the truth, but they have to live with it

FWIW: I'd ask one more question: When was the last editing done?
I don't know but it's already been sent out in DVD form so realistically how can they edit it now.
Bump!
Soo...I guess the only thing that would be left would be a push by the libs to get it not shown at all...BUT, they don't have a case without exposing Clinton anyway...LOL
I want an unedited copy of this film. Disney would be smart to market it as a stand-alone.
It's not a matter of realism. It's a matter of how willing the net is to take the heat for a whitewash. After all, if ABC hadn't been willing to consider it in the first place, they'd've told the Toons to go urinate up a rope.
But then again, maybe leaking this was the net's way of getting the Toons off their back. Instead of having the guts to stand up for their product, they can blame the fact that this all became public as their reason for denying ther...er, request.
It'll be interesting to see if the net goes with the chop job after all.
Thanks for looking.
Hugh Hewitt says they won't cave. He is very naive.
Conservatives often don't understand how rough the Rats play, how biased the Establishment is toward the Rats, or how money isn't the only thing that matters to some people.
***I could feel my BP rising listening to Rush on this......he has seen the original.....as have many other people- so if ABC caves- it will NOT be a secret.... ***
That's the hope I'm holding on to, Mom.
1. I have only heard Rush's comments.
2. I can't remember the last time I watched anything on one of the three majors, and will not break that pattern for this claptrap.
These Clintonistas need to be sent to the figurative trash heap of history, to be thought of as fondly as the fictional character in "Scarface," Tony Montana. That is to say, not fondly at all.

If ABC edits it, it would only be a matter of time before you could download it using bittorrent.
I checked and it doesn't seem to be available yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is available soon.
