Looking for Map of Cell Phone Purchases
self | August 11, 2006 | madison10

Posted on 08/11/2006 3:01:13 PM PDT by madison10

Has any one made a map, or done any tracking, of cities/towns the cell phones are being purchased? or of where the suspects are being picked up?

Thanks.

"I'm a Amateur Radio operator (HAM) and I could build a transmitter small enough to fit inside a pen."

Could you sit in Dearborn Michigan and blow up bombs simultaneously in New York, Chicago and LA with it?????

"As long as they are turned on, they are tracked."

I doubt it. You have no way of knowing who is using them. These phones may have nothing to do with detonations. Too many phones. Maybe the muslims are worried that NSA is spying on them and they are all paranoid? (It's a certifiable fact that most of them are paranoid.)

I know some were reported in Central Florida within the past month or so but I'll be darned if I can find a story.

Maybe it just made the blotter.

Attempts at large purchases have been going on a while. Reports in CA, NM, TX, TN, MI.

FBI Investigates Cell Phone Purchase ($60,000 worth of prepaid cell phones)

NBC.com - Dallas/Fort Worth ^ | October 31, 2005 | NBC5
DALLAS -- A Target store employee alerted Dallas police to a recent extraordinary cellular telephone equipment purchase. A man bought $60,000 worth of hard-to-trace prepaid cell phones. The size of the purchase raised suspicions among police investigators, who turned over the case to the FBI. "Those notifications are taken seriously," former FBI agent Danny Defenbaugh said. "Anytime a business or private citizen sees that type of activity, they need to go the extra step and notify law enforcement." The large purchase caused investigators to look toward possible homeland security threats. On two occasions during October, a man of Middle Eastern...

They were also looking for curling irons containing hydrocarbon gas (butane or propane, nevertheless nonelectric). I wonder if they are going to use the phones to trigger a type of "gas curling iron bomb" in one of their scenarios?

No the cell phone is being used as the receiver not as the transmitter. It can be used from any distance and from anywhere in the world. A garage door opener is good only up to maybe a hundred feet for example.

The only other purchasers are people who probably can't afford to own one.

A lot of US citizens bought a regular cell phone and talked for more than their wallet could afford. The cell companies know which dead beats owe them money and these people either pay up hundreds to settle their bill or they buy one of these phones instead.

I agree but only note that with a cell phone you can detonate from a 1000 miles away by dialing a number. Can't do that with a low power transmiter. What I would suggest is to have th phone companies ring all the prepay cell phones one a day at some random time. One ring, please one ring only, LOL. It would be cool to blow them up with there own phones.

So instead of cell phones, they use garage door openers which aren't being tracked, or keyless entry transmitters? The type used to open your car door? Or how about personal radios? You know. The kind they sell for around $30?

Range is too limited. These guys want to be more than a mile a way when it goes boom.

"3 Arrested on Terrorism Charges in Mich.
3 Men Arrested on Terrorism Charges in Michigan After Buying 80 Cell Phones"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Police stopped the men's van about 1:30 a.m. and found nearly 1,000 phones, most of which were prepaid TracFones, along with a laptop computer and a bag of receipts, Stevenson said.

The men told police they were buying the phones, which cost about $20 and come with a charger, taking them out of their packaging and selling them for about $38 without the charger.

The arrests in Caro, about 90 miles north of Detroit, come three days after two men were arrested in Marietta, Ohio, where police said they piqued suspicions when they acknowledged buying about 600 phones in recent months at stores in southeast Ohio.

Investigators found information about airline flights and airports in their car.

The men, Ali Houssaiky and Osama Abulhassan, both 20 and from Dearborn, have been charged with two felonies money laundering in support of terrorism and soliciting or providing support for acts of terrorism and misdemeanor falsification. A preliminary hearing on the felony counts was set for Tuesday."

I should add that Spearfish, SD., is a very small college town right on Interstate 90.

The "dark, swarthy type" population here is almost nil.

That was probsbly just the Bandidos getting ready for Sturgis, in case they get separated while riding in the Hills.

Okay...what I'm seeing is that ME men are buying cell phones in large quantities for possible use as detonators for IED's.

If...I repeat, IF that is the case, I have some questions:

1) How many IED's going off in the United States will it take before action is taken?

2) WHO will take that action?

3) WHAT should that action entail?

Somehow, I believe there should be a co-ordinated effort, should we be attacked (again), with the citizens taking the lead should the unthinkable happen. I hope against hope that it DOESN'T happen, but I'm afraid it may be a false hope aleady.

Since they haven't done anything yet, don't you think they are saving up for a big day of "BOOM"? Striking in multiple cities at the same time would be an extreme shock to America. I don't think it would have the affect the Muzzies would want, but it would still be a horrible shock. I think we would see people who make the Border militias pale in comparison and you'd see a rounding up of Muslims. Americans won't cower when it comes to survival. And, this is what this is all about, survival.

I am frustrated at people like Hannity who are going out of their ways to defend the "religion of peace". There are likely good Muslims out there. But they are the MINORITY. The majority around the world wants Death to America and Israel and anyone else who won't join them.

I honestly don't know what "Action" can or should be taken. We are a people of laws as well - so we can't let the terrorists win by changing our identity in that regard. But, we sure as heck need to stop it with the politically correct baloney. It will get us killed. Period.
