Protest permit alarms Utah's Jews
'It's scary': Many worry such a rally could blur the line between freedom of speech and anti-Semitism
By Heather May
The Salt Lake Tribune
"Members of Utah's Jewish community are alarmed by a proposed demonstration that will call for "Death to Israel.""
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A man - whose name wasn't available Thursday - has applied for a free-speech permit from Salt Lake City to demonstrate on sidewalks near City Hall on Wednesday. The city is reviewing the application.
City officials cannot constitutionally deny it based on the content of the message.
Laura Green, director of the United Jewish Federation of Utah, said Thursday that she has received dozens of calls about the planned demonstration. Many fear the rally could incite violence against Jews.
"Based on freedom of speech, people have the right to say what they want to say. There has to be a line between saying what you want to say and preaching the genocide of a population," Green said.
She hopes the city denies the permit, saying the police will be busy enough with the other five demonstrations planned for Wednesday to coincide with President Bush's visit to Utah.
The president will speak to the American Legion's 88th national convention at the Salt Palace on Thursday. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice are scheduled to speak on Tuesday."
Whenever we are digging on the property I joke that maybe we'll find some buried treasure. Perhaps I should be more specific in my wishful thinking as I don't want that type of buried treasure.
Laproscoptic surgery, back to desk work in 5 days, no heavy lifting for 2 weeks. Wonders of modern medicine
You're welcome.
Mama Dearest found that Spokane article regarding the yard while I was looking at an AQ/Spokane/Morroco research which is completely separate.
Coincidence.
Well now, that is nice.
Good deal.
Mine was Laproscoptic surgery and then the knife.
Ran into some difficulties.
However, I like you felt better with time.
Good deal all the way around.

Fifth terror suspect granted bail
Canadian Press via National Post ^ | 2006-08-25 | (wire service)

BRAMPTON, Ont. -- One of 18 terror suspects charged in an alleged plot to bomb targets in southern Ontario was granted bail Friday, making him the fifth to be released from custody.
Justice of the peace Sally Fallon granted bail to Ibrahim Aboud, 19, after hearing a joint submission filed by the Crown and defence.
His family, who had an intrepreter to follow the proceedings, said through their lawyer Anser Farooq that they were looking forward to having Aboud back home.
The bearded and slightly-built Aboud walked out of court with his parents and would not comment before rushing off to a car.
Aboud was arrested on Aug. 3 at his home in Mississauga, Ont., and charged with participating in a terrorist group and training for terrorist purposes.
His arrest came about two months after the other 17 suspects were swept up in a series of arrests.
Aboud was released into the custody of four sureties, who paid a total of $145,000 in bail.
He must reside at his parents' home and can only leave unaccompanied if he's going to school, a hospital or his lawyer's office.
He is to attend Ryerson University in Toronto.
He is scheduled to appear in court again Aug. 28
Thanks for your insight AIT. ChiaPet is getting out of hand. I'll be looking for any threads you post on this subject.
Hope you're feeling much better in no time Godzilla. We sure don't need any grumpy giant lizards on the loose :-)
Thanks for the ping to the excellent info all4one.
Thank you, and please feel free to pass along anything I post you find useful.
My formerly Democrat wife wife thought I was getting a little too "hard-edged" toward militant Islam last year, so without saying more, I gave her some of those links with a "read these, and judge for yourself..."
Her "edge" may be harder than mine, now... or, as I like to tease her, "Honey, you'll look great in that new black Burkah!"

Do your own reasearch and then just do it - pre or post surgery. It's not well known - no patents - no drugs - no big bucks - but it works.
Physicians who really care about healing the cause vs. masking symptoms are turning on to this - Vets are comming on board as well.
Blessings - Bob
Thank you Bob.

My last timecard showed 112 hours of chargeable time...not including travel and other distractions that go with work. Just a little busy lately. I hope you're nicely settled in your new location.
Konstanz?!? Oh lovely. That's about 20 miles from where one of my relatives lives. Yikes.
Well thank you MamaD. Guess I have a habit of reading too fast or trying to do more than one thing at a time. *Sigh*
