First rule of parents, don't let your children play around rocket launchers.

WTF????
I already apologized.

Can you see now how important facts (like your apology) can get overlooked when they are buried WAY DOWN in a thread?

: )

having now watched it several more times, I notice that in what appears to be zoom views, the date/time stamp has been pixelated, except for the 7/22 panorama view.

In addition, IDF is parsing their words very very carefully, leaving plenty of room for whatever the hezzy/UN and press can make out of it

It had nothing to do with replying to my post about Reagan withdrawing from Lebanon. Normal bait and switch.

Your entire post and the sequence of direct replies:

(and this is the last time I'll respond to your blatherings)

"Reagan caught hell from the media yet managed to effectively communicate and fight back when necessary. "

Nice rant you got going there.
Reagan?
I take it you were on Mars when Reagan withdrew the US Marines from Beirut after the marines barracks had been bombed with over 240 Marines dead?
You don't know what you re talking about. And you have no idea what happened during the Reagan administration either. The drive-by media relentlessly attacked Reagan, portraying him as some kind of amiable idiot.

Nice try. I remember the millions marching in Germany against upgrading NATO defenses and missile deployment, when the European public sentiment appeared more vocal and averse to the US than it does now. Yet Reagan still led. I remember having to avoid areas that were American when I was over there after the Berlin disco bombing and our strikes on Tripoli. I remember my roomate having to run out of a Paris subway station after an evacuation announcement and subsequent bombing. I remember the pounding he took from the media, some of which would not be responded to much. But on important matters he would challenge them or go over their heads to talk directly to the public whenever it was necessary, and to the extent necessary. Volume and quantity wasn't the issue, but effectivenss.

Yeah, withdrawing from Beirut may have been the biggest mistake of his presidency, but it also was a decision made in a different context. There were no WMD programs threatening bringing attacks to our shores, a more divided, less armed, and somewhat counterbalanced M.E., with Iran not having near the ability to wage a proxy war on the scale that it can now with Hezb and other groups.

What's that got to do with Reagan retreating from Beirut after US marines had been bombed again?
Demonstrations?
Heck there have been huge numbers of anti-war demonstrations against Bush over Iraq in every corner of the world, including here in America and especially massive anti-Bush demonstration's Europe.
Hasn't made one iota of difference to President Bush's resolve in either Afghanistan or Iraq.
Anyone can ignore demonstrations, staying the course after thousands of American troops have been bombed to death is what takes real balls, and President Bush has a pair of big brass ones.
Just keep your rubbish coming will ya?

It was a response to this crap that you wrote in the same post:

Sorry for assuming that you could remember what you wrote a few minutes earlier in the same post that I was directly responding to. You seem to have comprehension problems, too, so let me spell it out directly. I volunteered and campaigned for Reagan, so yes, I know a thing or two about him and what was happening back then.

You'll have to resort to another tactic to try and discredit thoughts that you don't like.

Repeat: You have no idea what you are talking about.

"You seem to have comprehension problems, too, so let me spell it out directly"

You don;t even understand what you are writing yourself, let alone what Simonne else writes.

"I volunteered and campaigned for Reagan, so yes, I know a thing or two about him and what was happening back then. "

If you did( I doubt it), you promptly fell sleep for the 8 years of the Regan administration, when it comes to how the media reported on Reagan.

I'll take Cheney, with Tommy Franks as VP.

Franks is cagey and he is smart. As well, I would like a military man in the White House. But I've never been sure he's a Republican.

Military people, a lot of times, are given credit for being ultraconservative and all of that, but they don't announce party alliance and do all that sort of stuff. And so we call ourselves apolitical. Actually, I carry that into civilian life. I'm not a Democrat. I'm not Republican. I'm not an independent.

From a lengthy interview with Cigar Afficionado magazine (towards the end).

Thank you for a courteous reply to an honest question.

I have been away from news for a while and I didn't know what the Qana building was either, although I immediately inferred that it was a Hez building bombed by Israeli's.

I wish I could know every thing but ....

Anyone know how many missiles were lobbed at Israel today? Haven't heard that reported by FoxNews yet. All the MSM whining about Qana is worth nothing as compared to whether Israel's actions are having an effect.

"Bush pushing Israel to stop killing terrorists! How can anyone support that?"

I believe you are both exaggerating and misstating. Bush has never said anything of the sort and, in fact, has stated many times that Israel has the right to defend itself.

Asking for them to show restraint is just a rhetorical sop to the fanatics.

He knows they show much more restraint than the Hezbo's (to use Rush's word)

A lot (probably most) of the people complaining about your post just posted immediately (as I did) before reading all the other complaints.

I would never have piled on had I read them.

And your first born son will not be needed, unless of course, he's cute and in his early forties.

It's sad but true. Many of the Reagan worshippers are the same people who would have griped loudest about him back in the day.

They are now just using his 'greatness' as a weapon against Bush.

He was great, but so is Dubya.

Thanks. Yes, I saw the video...'bout time!

But, of course, the MSM is now demanding "nosecone" video from the plane firing on the Hezbos.

Israel can't win for losing. Israel planned bomb shelters for every community and, when the bombing got too bad, moved its citizens out of the north. Thus, Israel has far fewer casualties...and this is used against them in the PR war!

That sound you hear is me pulling my hair out!
