OK so an ABC affiliate is not the MSM.

Right. Got it. Thanks very much for your input.

Have a nice night.

Local stations generally don't have an axe to grind one way or the other

I can see you've never been to Chicago.

Chuckle.

Been trying to show you that all night.

If you go to the MM website they are a 501(c)(4) organization. They have to file reports annually. Look at the link I posted to the IRS instruction form for a 990.

They cannot pay leaders more than 50k.

Tempest in a teapot.

But one thing is for damned sure. Mr. Simcox is not legally required to answer any charges made by the press in the press.

I agree with you on this!

He owes an answer -- not just to his volunteers and donors -- but to his cause to be above board and show where the money has gone... Especially now that he is asking for 55 million dollars.

The best local stations in this country that I've seen are the local stations in Denver.

This isn't from Chicago; a place I an most familiar with, having lived there for quite a time.

Do you live in Chicago, or the bubs....claiming to be a Chicagoan? ;^)

Thank you, axes, for that info. That may clear this whole mess up.

I'll check it out after I've had some sleep. Take care.

Phoenix is not local to the border. It's local to the AZ Minutemen HQ, though. Jack Ladd's farm is about 200 Miles from the ABC station. I would not call that local.

And for the record, I've also been to Phoenix, and I will say this much, ABC 15 is probably the second best station for news next to NBC 12. The worst station is FOX 10. It's nothing more than entertainment fluff. I could care less that Britney Spears married "the human sponge".

You're unaware that the Phoenix locals, among hundreds of other local stations are carried on satellite.

You had an informative post with opesecrets.com. Don't mess it up by now equating a local (to Phoenix) news station with the MSM.

:-)

I'm more than 200 miles away from Denver, and the Denver market stations are considered my local (they actually call them "distant locals") stations. Los Angeles and New York are what are considered "distant networks".

I'm not familiar with Denvers local media but around here the mere thought of Republicans doing anything in Cook County is pretty much unthinkable to anyone in the local media.

And unless something has caught fire or exploded the collar counties don't even get mentioned.

It's especially so in Cook County where the mere mention of a Republican candidate for any office is greeted with snickers.

There are some good reporters but they're mostly in the print media. Chicago local news is more of the 'if it bleeds it leads' variety and local politics goes unmentioned unless someone is under indictment or gets convicted. But this being Chicago that happens pretty often.

To be honest about it I don't read either local paper (Chicago Tribune or the even worse Sun Times) anymore because of the reeking liberal bias.
