And unless something has caught fire or exploded the collar counties don't even get mentioned.
It's especially so in Cook County where the mere mention of a Republican candidate for any office is greeted with snickers.
There are some good reporters but they're mostly in the print media. Chicago local news is more of the 'if it bleeds it leads' variety and local politics goes unmentioned unless someone is under indictment or gets convicted. But this being Chicago that happens pretty often.
To be honest about it I don't read either local paper (Chicago Tribune or the even worse Sun Times) anymore because of the reeking liberal bias.

I'll say this much. The Denver locals do a better job covering national and internatonal news than the networks they're associated with.
I don't read the Chicago Trib or Sun either. I read online either the Wash Times (I subscribe to their weekly national edition that comes via snail mail) or Billings Gazette online.
Isn't the above more than a little bit contradictory? :-)
