Please be in prayer for our LadyX. She will be undergoing surgery tomorrow morning(5/24/06). Any of you who know LadyX, know that she has been a member of our FR Family for a long time and is very much loved and respected. She has inspired us, made us laugh, given us some of the wisest of advice, wowed us with tales of her life in the Marines, and shared her childhood memories of an idealic time. Some will recall the sailing of the Mobius, or the time on the tropical island. We have shared many adventures. Now, it's time to let her know how much she is loved.
Post your prayers, encouragements, jokes, pictures or memories, so she will have them to read when she gets back home.

So enormously sorry to hear of our Maggie's passing. Heartfelt condolences to you, Bernie, Nan, and to all of her loved ones and friends. Maggie will be so sorely missed. I will miss those always witty 'Dear John' letters of hers.
I never had the fortune to meet her personally, only spoke to her over the phone earlier this month. She was so friendly and kind -- like we had known each other a lifetime. What a kind and gentle soul she was. Great sense of humor.
She is home with the Lord now, but she left our world a better place than she found it. Of that there can be no doubt. Thanks to her profound love for America, her burning patriotism. Her life was a model to emulate and an inspiration to all of us. We are all richer for having known her, this wonderful, precious soul.
May she rest in peace.

Tribute to LadyX that I took to Parris Island on July 14th is
still at the base of the Molly Marine Statue! I was reading this
thread on Sgt Grit's
web forum about a Marine Corps League group that just made a 'return to Parris Island' trip and one guy, Gunny Gill, has photos posted. I was perusing the photos and there at the base of the Molly Marine statue is the Tribute to Maggie, still standing more than a month after I placed it there! Someone is making sure it stays there for sure.

Oh, this is so sad. I'm celebrating a FRaniversity this eveing (10/8/98) and the very first post I made was "Mom Picks Me Up", a post from 1998 that satirized the posters of that era. I concluded a section where Mom (may she rest in Peace) picked me up from the sandbox and then Dad (may he rest in Peace) held me in his arms. LadyX was the first to respond to the post, as the section saluting my Dad, an Iwo Jima vet and a very tough man with a heart of gold, gave me hope for the future.
God Bless you, LadyX
Sorry I'm so late with my thoughts; I've been quite self-centered.

I'm so sad to have just found LadyX on the memorial wall! I think I posted to this thread when she began to need constant care but never got a ping when she passed. I've been thinking about her and hoping she had improved, but now she is with God.
She brought much happiness to me in a terrible period in my life. God continue to bless her and keep her by his right side!!!

It's lonely without our girls.. How is it that our dearest friends pass leaving such a void, and yet their memories still leave a smile on our face.. I know they are together, still playing and watching over us.. If I didn't believe that I won't be so calm about it.. Stay close my dear FRiend, we can share these moments together.. :(

Yes to everything you said and thank you for responding to my poignant ping. I hope all is well with you. I know you've had more than your share of troubles, too.
I discovered today that I've been non-lurking for 7 years this coming May, so it's been almost that long since we first came into contact with our Lady of X and Angelique. This place isn't nearly as pleasant without them!!!
