This morning President and Mrs. Bush greeted Australian Prime Minister John Howard and his wife, Janette to the White House in an official South Lawn Arrival Ceremony as part of a state visit, followed by a meeting of the two leaders in the Oval Office, and a joint statement to the press in the East Room. There will be an official State Dinner at the White House this evening.
This afternoon President Bush congratulated the WNBA 2005 National Champion, Sacramento Monarchs at a ceremony in the East Garden of the White House, where he accepted a shirt and championship ring.
There has never been a greater need for Sanity on Free Republic so WELCOME to the Daily Dose! Lots of great pictures today............Enjoy!
Come to think of it, they have been kind of quiet this evening :-)
How fun ... glad you had a great time! I haven't been around much either. Sometimes one just needs a break! {{{hugs}}} back at ya! ;*)
Oh, we had a WONDERFUL time. Went to Dallas, Austin and Houston and just never slowed down for 5 whole days. FReepers are wonderful people! I would sure love to meet the FReepers in the DC area some day.
Hello Mike. How are those grand kids doing?
They are doing great, Good grades in school, and they are absorbing information like a 10,000 RPM SCSI Hard Drive :-)
They are sure a joy at that age.
Thank for putting up the dose this evening. I haven't looked at the pictures yet. I will save that for tomorrow morning.
This past Sunday, I had them for the day and decided to teach them how the game of baseball is played, so I got them a plastic bat and ball and took 4 pieces of cardboard for Bases and I pitched the plastic ball to them and much to my surprise, they hit the ball very very well and ran the bases just as good :-)
Gnight Tommix2, 6:00 Am is just around the corner :-)
I'm off to bed too Good night.
Well.....come on over! Y'all should have come here instead of staying in TX! LOL!
Did you meet April?
re: 134
wow sorry to hear he had colon cancer!
God bless him and you too ((ohioWfan!))
We met on the weekend of May 5th. It was NYTexan's birthday and a bunch of us gathered in Austin for a birthday bash for him! It was a ball! Then we went to a Memorial Shoot for Texas Cowboy in Houston.
I would just LOVE to meet you.
I think he may have had it darkened slightly. It was looking kinda gray a few weeks ago.
Thanks I know I have the link in my favourites but was not sure which station it was as I only listened once very briefly.
I am. Oh my goodness, I didn't even think about telling you....my bad. I had mentioned it on the dose, asking for suggestions on sites to see and what not. Many were really helpful.
I saw those crazy people across from the WH, set up in their tent, protesting who knows what. It was the day after Susan S & Cindy S were there. I don't know, they looked like they LIVE there. And when hubby turned to shoot a pic of the park (he loves the trees here), some crazy man with the President's "mask" on started walking toward us like we wanted a photo of HIM.
He had a nasty little sign on about "the Decider." I thought, if he gets close enough to me, I may have to slap him!"
Love the architecture. It's amazing. Enjoyed the Metro experience. Wish we could have this in So. Cal. But with our earthquakes, it wouldn't be safe.
Today, we're off to Williamsburg.
Isn't it amazing that they have not learned his style by now. He will never engage in a "Did so", "did not" debate.
I wonder if Tony Snow will continue to hold his press briefings with a smile on his face. Even smiling at that pack of jackals defuses them.
I agree that he actually does, but sometimes he's trying so hard to make it clear that he DOES disagree (and isn't a shill for the WH), that he actually says things that imply, or state outright that the President isn't a man of his word. (Like he did Monday about the speech - before I turned the radio off).
What frosted me recently was when the illegal protestors were gathering, Rush actually told a lie when he said "President Bush isn't going to say anything against them. He AGREES with them."
Well, that wasn't true at all, but Rush said it. It's the first time I've ever heard him tell an outright untruth, and I can't quite get over it.
I still think he's the best of the talkers, but he's really messed up on this one, IMO.
