This morning President and Mrs. Bush greeted Australian Prime Minister John Howard and his wife, Janette to the White House in an official South Lawn Arrival Ceremony as part of a state visit, followed by a meeting of the two leaders in the Oval Office, and a joint statement to the press in the East Room. There will be an official State Dinner at the White House this evening.
This afternoon President Bush congratulated the WNBA 2005 National Champion, Sacramento Monarchs at a ceremony in the East Garden of the White House, where he accepted a shirt and championship ring.

I think Rush knows that the President is a man of character and has much respect for him.
But he disagrees with him sometimes and, I think, does it in a fairly reasoned, respectful manner.
He remains my favorite.

I have never listened to Sean on radio but I watch him on TV most nights.
IMHO he seems to defend the President unless he gets onto one of his pet subject where his views differ from the President. Maybe he is more wacko on radio.

PD, You and I think a lot alike, I've been saying this about GWB for at least 3 years. My take on it is a little different though. I compare the MSM to a Bully who picks on someone and gets no response from that person, so the Bully ratchet's up his abuse until the Bully drops his guard and exposes himself as the Bully he is. From that point on, the Bully is nothing but a Punk
GWB is turning the MSM into a bunch of PUNKS :-)
Thanks Pukin Dog, you're a great asset to this forum

I notice that the Australian PM's son is among the guests cannot rememeber seeing photos of him arriving with his parents or does he live in the US? He does indeed - he's 25 and has been living in the US for about a year. He's working as a lobbyist in Washington.
There is an article about him in today's Australian than might interest you.

Nothing hurts an insecure person more then to be ignored. That always reminds me of the book "The Fountainhead," where (I think) Toohey says to Roark, "I know what you think of me" and Roark says, "But I don't think of you." The first time I read that I could think of no better insult. I've used it since, too.

Thanks PD. I will remember your words here the next time I get upset with the President for not defending himself.

Just one of the best lines in movie history.

...but Rush is on just as I am getting dinner. I took the radio out on the deck as I was working in the flower beds. The entire neighborhood heard Rush today! ;*)

My dad taught me to appreciate Ayn Rand. He always had one of her books lying around while I was growing up.

The Fountainhead was on Turner Classics a few weeks ago. I kept it on the TiVo and watched it 3 times.
