BUSH SET FOR IMMIGRATION SPEECH WHITE HOUSE President Bush is getting set for a prime-time speech on Aides note the 8 p-m, Eastern Time, speech will be the president's first from the Oval Office that does not involve Iraq and the war on terrorism. And they say that reflects Bush's He's speaking as the Senate is poised to clear a compromise measure including his idea for a guest worker program. However, a rival House bill is limited to a border crackdown, and meshing the two won't be easy. Stand Up For America ! |

What a difference in President Wilson! Set up volunteer citizens association, the American Protective League, and whatever that Civil Citizen groups name is. He demanded patriotism.
HI, Gosh its 3am and I can't sleep over all this!
Anyway, I just caught a repeat of Newt being interviewd by Russert (I''ve met Newt, seems a very nice man) and I was very impressed. Re: amnesty....he is for an eventual 'temporary worker program' BUT everyone MUST go home and apply for it. Russert got a bit bothered by it....what about families, can't break up families and make just the illegal one's go home, etc. Newt just kept on telling him there are way s to do it. So NO approval of an illegal's temp work permit, until they've ALL gone home to apply first. (summary, and I think pretty accurate for 3am, lol)
I wonder if the person who got the information from the Spanish radio station about "Surrounding the White House" will post a transcript of what they hear on this tonight?
It's interesting that Drudge would mention 'civil war'. On almost every other post I make I mention the demands that are NOT being met by D.C. and the illegals determination to get them, even if La Revolucion! Organizers from the Latino communities have stated in interviews that the illegals are no longer afraid, they have nothing to lose, they will settle for nothing less now is the time, La Revolucion! I post the reminder and get about zero response. Maybe most just think its a bluff?
Bush and the GOP are letting us down, but they are letting the illegals down as well and unlike us who phone and fax, they've already shown us their strength in numbers.
Another concern, can anyone clarify, surely they would not put thousands of NG on the border UNARMED? Would they?
I just got this from one of my groups:
WARNING to anyone in San Bernardino!!!
Monday, May 15, 2006 will be a day like no other in the history of the city. It will be the first skirmish in "The Battle of San Bernardino". The skirmish will be at the San Bernardino City Hall located at 300 N "D" Street. It will take place at 3:00 P.M.

Please translate for us after his speech!?
I think it will be:
Welcome to America.
Enjoy our benefits and all the free stuff.
I am going to give you amnesty my friends, but we won't call it that (wink wink).
Make no mistake, even if the President does the above (God forbid) the American people will never forget of forgive him and will still insist on removing the illegals and securing the border.
Wear a Black Armband or ribbon for loss of US sovereignty!
"ILLEGAL ALIEN AMNESTY WILL PASS THE SENATE"
from Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ)
Demonstrate your grief publicly at the loss of US sovereignty, knowing that the US Senate supports legal status for 20 million-plus illegal aliens (and with legal status they become eligible for welfare and public assistance for them and their families they'll bring here
Senator Kyl did mention the hope of neutralizing the "amnesty" by either Senate amendments or in the behind-closed-door conference committee proceedings, but he expressed the odds of success as only 50-50. So
wear the mourning symbols until we know for certain that illegal alien amnesty has been defeated (and that includes "guest worker amnesty" disguises).
For the black ribbon, go to any fabric store or craft mart or even a variety store and ask for 1/4 yard (9") of black ribbon, and use clear nail polish on the ends to prevent fraying. Wear the black ribbon in a loop (like those for AIDS or Breast Cancer or Support our Troops) anchored by your American flag pin. If you already have a black armband, wear that with your US flag pin. To those who ask "Why" tell them that their US Senators have "compromised" to allow illegal alien lawbreakers
to remain in the US with a "path to citizenship" allowing them to vote.
Call both the local and Washington DC offices of your federal House members and Senators and tell them about your public symbol of mourning.
The toll-free number for the Washington DC offices is 888 355-3588.
On CNN and FOX today, Congressmen Tom Tancredo and JD Hayworth both shared the firm House resolve against amnesty for illegal aliens, no matter what Senators pass.
~Sandra Miller
"Drudge reporting that Bush is going to double the amount of those being able to become citizens! The 'legal' flow would increase to 2 million BESIDES allowing the illegals to stay! Ultimate citizenship to all, so yes the number of them is 40 mil!"
I'm so tired and I can't remember where I posted this, but Gilchrist estimated 30 million already here. If you multiply that by an additional 4 per person for extra family members, thats......120 million!!! And, I think Gilchrist estimate might be a little low. Some Latino websites estimate closer to 40 million. If that's the case the final number would be 160 million!
Here's what is bothering me. I don't think that the illegals give two hoots about 'legalization' or 'citizenship' except that due to HR 4437, legalization would prevent them from being 'felons' and deported. Otherwise, I think they'd prefer things to remain status quo. Because in my city, they're already getting a great deal!
Dad gets paid cash, pays no taxes, no papertrail of 'employment'.
Employer benefits by paying a lower wage.
Mom applies and qualifies for Welfare since there is no papertrail of dads employment. She gets Medicaid & Prescription, Cash, SSI, Food Stamps and Housing Allowance and many more services for the entire family. Now she does it without risking getting caught as she is 'legal'. AND, If 'legalization' means being given a new 'legal' SS number, I wonder how much fraud will occur if mom decides to collect from both her old 'illegal' number AND new number?
My guess is that the illegals, even when made legal would continue to operate in this manner, which gives them two incomes. It would even be to the benefit of the employer because he could continue to pay a low wage and no longer risks being penalized for employing an illegal, since they will ALL be 'legal'.

Should any Senate staffer continue to insist that their boss "opposes amnesty" but will vote for the "compromise" (anything that allows illegal aliens to remain in the US is amnesty), use Judge Judy's famous reply:
"Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining."

I've seen Joe Turner interviewed on this. He really found a great way to force this issue through and seems to have b een battling the illegal immigration problem for quite some time now. A loophole and 2,000 signatures allowed him to force council to take action or to put it up for a vote within, I think, 60 days. I knew the heads of the Latino (la Raza & Aztlan) movement were ticked off, but this shows they have no intention of settling.
This just may be the first battle of their La Revolucion!
Wow....thanks for that list! I hoped I'd find one just like this, it is going to really come in handy. I'm an Ohioan and knew about Dewine, but every time I email him I get the same form letter back about how he's so concerned about illegals and there must be "comprehensive immigration reform" the new code word for amnesty.
We definitely need to keep pressure on these who are running and the council members you listed earlier for immigration reform.
No.
My exact thought when I got the eye popping link!
