Oh, brother... Next thing you know, they and their socialist pals at HNN are going to claim muslims walked on the moon before Armstrong. In 700 AD, no doubt.

HNN is inviting comments on their website.

Columbus encountered native inhabitants of this new world, and thinking that he had landed in India, he called them Indians

Not correct.
In 1492 India was called Hindustan not India.
Columbus called them a "puebla in Dios"
A people in God; shortened to Indians.

I know that there's evidence that Vikings reached Newfoundland in about 1000 AD. There was also a stone found in Minnesota that had an inscription that said there were a bunch of Norwegians there in 1362. There have been claims that this was a hoax, but the jury is still out.

As for the Mormons, there is essentially no archeological evidence for what's in the book of Mormon. And then there's this new claim, which I doubt will live up to scrutiny.

"Guanahani is believed to be a corruption of two Arabic words, brought to the island by early Muslim visitors who remained in the Caribbean and intermarried with the Native Americans."

Believed to be? Believing something to be true may work in the DNC, but real history requires evidence.

Well to say the least its interesting. And lets face facts it could have happen. Now what the article mentions as to Professior Fell findings of a significant Moslem poplulation here and influence is pretty silly. But I would be curious to learn more about this earlier guy. Could a few West African Muslims have made ot to SOuth and Central AMerican. Well Is suppose so they could have. We have evidence of Norse settlements in North America way before Columbus.TO me its not a religious issue but a historical one of slight interest. I think its fair to say the few muslims that might have got here before Columbus had little impact on the culture of the Americas. In fact they are seemed to have been assismiliated into the native culture here if they indeed had arrived.

"Guana means brothers and Hani is a traditional Arab name"
I think that's supposed to read "guano."' And it means bat sh!t. That makes more sense!

Well it would explain the bloodthirsty savages the Europeans encountered.

Is it possible that there were Muslims in the Americas before Columbus?

LOL No. (What drugs are these guys taking that come up with this stuff?)

And now I suppose they want "the right of return." This has something in common with the Mormon theory that Jesus came to America.

I'm wishing now that a lot of them hadn't visited SINCE Columbus.

For Pete's sake!

These muslims are as bad as the cold war soviet union with their lies!!! "We did it first, but we didn't tell anyone about it!" What a bunch of crap.

If the muslims HAD discovered the western world first, there would be mosques on every corner! They are floating this LIE to justify the idea that that muslims need to TAKE AMERICA BACK for muslims because THEY had it first!

And Calypso Louiey will tell you the muslims were here first because the space wheel mothership came here, just after the finished their bases on the moon.

They want to establish that America was once part of the Caliphate and under Sharia law. If they can make this claim stick, they will add our country to the "occupied territory" and will wage a never ending jihad to make sure it is once again governed by Sharia.

It is clear that Muslims could not have visited the Americas in advance of Columbus, because there were non-Muslim Indians left alive by the time Columbus arrived.

A book by a Muslim historian details the story of a Muslim navigator on a journey across the ocean to an unknown land, where they found much treasure.

This does not speak highly of the competence of the History News Network.

A book by a muslim historian which is unnamed and undated and is probably apocryphal, or flat out fraudulent?

Give me a break!

Good thing he wasn't looking for Turkey.

Let's say this was true. Why didn't these Arab sailors, filled as they were with the same bacillus, viruses, and bacteria as every other Old World person, infect Native Americans, causing vast pandemics and death? Where's the smallpox? The measles? The influenza?

Just like the Communists before them, the Islamofascists have to insert themselves into every corner of history to prove their own selfimportance. What a bunch of impotent slobs.
