Moussaoui Asks to Withdraw Guilty Plea

Convicted Sept. 11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui says he lied on the witness stand about being involved in the plot and wants to withdraw his guilty plea because he now believes he can get a fair trial.

In a motion filed Friday but released today, Moussaoui said he testified March 27 he was supposed to hijack a fifth plane on Sept. 11, 2001, and fly it into the White House "even though I knew that was a complete fabrication."

It's just that there has been so much coverage of this case, I was surprised. Of course, just because there's been coverage, I shouldn't assume everyone has followed it. Lord knows I tuned out the OJ case as much as I could.

The judge stated at the sentencing that he cannot appeal the verdict, since he pled guilty. He can only appeal the sentence.

Just release him in Battery Park after announcing the time and date. Oh, also pull all police back about 20 blocks.

OK so you lied. When? On the stand in a court of law? So why should anyone believe you now when your religious tradition says it's ok for you to lie to Infidels(Americans)?

Well maybe we should just put him in the general population for that Perjury conviction.
