Convicted Sept. 11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui says he lied on the witness stand about being involved in the plot and wants to withdraw his guilty plea because he now believes he can get a fair trial.

In a motion filed Friday but released today, Moussaoui said he testified March 27 he was supposed to hijack a fifth plane on Sept. 11, 2001, and fly it into the White House "even though I knew that was a complete fabrication."

What a maroon

For the first time in my life I actually see a defense attorney earning every penny of his/her wages......

To give the NYFD a good shot at him first?

That's a good reason (and they're a bit particular there about calling it the FDNY).

fine, so its not the Ritz Carlton. He lives an austere existence. But he still gets his meals, some programs on his cell TV, religious services there too, an hour a day of exercise, showers, medical care when he needs it, meetings with his lawyers and human rights visitors, etc.

he gets to live, to live some kind of life - which is more that can be said for the 3000 people who died on 9-11. Many of them roasted alive in the WTC, Manhattan smelled like a crematoria for weeks afterwards.

He's mocking our system, plain and simple.

and they'll continue to do so until...when? The abu gharaib (or however you spell it) apologists will be all over this when the motion is denied and he's sent to that little cell in the desert.

Then watch his bretheren try to break him out or bomb the prison or some such treat.

"While my answers were legally accurate, I did not volunteer information. Indeed, I did have a relationship with Ms. Lewinsky that was not appropriate."

Oh for crying out loud, Moussaoui isn't actively pursuing the title of UN Secretary is he? ; )

he gets the small TV, the anger mgmt shows, religious shows. he gets food and medical care.

the cell is 7x12 people are saying here - that's 84 square feet. a bare bones inside stateroom on many cruise ships is 117 square feet - and a part of that is taken up by the closet, which obviously Moussaoui does not need. So the idea that an 84 sq ft room in a "coffin" as these others are saying, is a stretch.

And even that's about 7 times too large.

this guy was willing to fly a plane into a building, he's hardly scared by supermax.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. If he IS a warrior (there is some doubt), then going out in a blaze of glory in a few minutes would certainly be preferred to decaying away in prison over 50 years. Think about it.

Of course after pacing the floor for thirty plus years it is not going to be the same as a week on a cruise ship.
As for the other items. It doesn't make sense for him to be allowed to watch/hear people talking. What kind of solitary confinement is that. I assume he would be entitled to medical care. At any rate. At this point he had better be locked away. It should only have taken him a a few days to be transported or perhaps flown in. We had better not hear about any more stuff coming from his lawyers because the case is closed right? And if so, he no longer should have a lawyer. If some jerks are allowed to re-open this case there are going to be a lot of angry people, and not just republicans and conservatives.

Sharia law says to cut out his tongue and hang him with it, if he lies. So... who are we to quibble?

This character should have undoubtably been hung, or impaled, for his crimes.

But now that this is done, so be it, he asked for it.

Lock him in this cell, and 30 or 40 years from now when he croaks run a 3 line obit on page 36 of the New York Times.

All this court cases and appeals and publicity just feeds this vermin.

The judge stated at the sentencing that he cannot appeal the verdict, since he pled guilty. He can only appeal the sentence.

So he wants to appeal the "Life" sentence to receive "Death"? We should be able to accomodate that request. We are, after all, not communists.

I say when he dies we take his body, drench it in pig's blood, burn it, and flush his ashes down the toilet.

You know, I'm looking at that list and I'm sad to report that there are more terrorists convicted under Clinton than under Bush.

But then again... Bush doesn't prosecute terrorists, he just kills them or sends them to GTMO.

Ohh! Pay a dollar and you get to set off the sound of gunfire to wake him up at night!!! This has potential!!!

Great idea! I'd get him an alarm clock that sounds like a grenade going off (full volume).

Instead of wasting good pork and risk clogging the plumbing, why don't we just say we drenched his body in pigs blood and flushed in down the toilet, while just unceremoniously chucking his corpse into a dumpster.

I don't think anyone really believes that mumbojumbo about pigs being "unclean", I know I don't.

Al Quaida knows how to work our judicial system better than ANY low-life defense lawyer.
