I am wary of that explanation too. I mean CIA Director is a "pretty big shakeup". I mean the political cost of doing that is bad enough. What more hearings. Endless blabbering about Bush intelligence failures during the confirmation process by his enemies.

The blogs pushing the story don't even name Goss - they say "a former intelligence committee member now working with the agency" and they cite no evidence.

So I don't see how anybody who wants to decide based on actual evidence could conclude that Goss is guilty of anything.

Again, I'm betting on a difference over the approach to Iran - that Goss did not want to go to war - but that is just my speculation - no evidence there either.

Seriously, I hope that a really great appointment is made there now, whoever it may be - we need an incredibly good CIA in these times of peril, not the mess we have there now.
