This should be a list of who is planning to close their business on Monday, May 1 in response of the Great American Boycott. We should compile it and boycott them ourselves if possible!
Remember to go shopping or work overtime on May 1!
"and bidding them all farewell if they are."
You are on target - IMO, there will be an unspoken reaction against many things Mexican in the future - e.g. Mexican restaurants.
This issue is totally out of control.
Not my fault, that you cannot see it. But I continue to point it out anyway...
The best thing do do is for rotational heads to back off, and then you will see what remains.
Thanks for that info- I wasn't sure- hope that's true for ALL of Perdue- would hate to give them up!
My ancestors brought it from the Baltic's and Germany.
You dont think every ICE agent in the country is on duty today? My buddy works Asian drug gangs in Philly. He is in DC today.
Round'em up an d deport them!
I'm going out to find out this afternoon, and will be very disappointed if I find out they're not open......
Dimmocrat Thugs, no doubt
Haven't noticed anything here in suburban Maryland. I believe DC is one of the target cities. Mrs. jimfree and I decided to spend some money in DC today so we took the Metro in this morning to have breakfast at the Old Ebbett Grill. They obviously make their own corned beef hash. I had that while the wife had a fritata with crab meat and asparagus. My breakfast was served with some incredible whole wheat sour dough toast. Yum!
I have a meeting near Baltimore this afternoon and plan to have lunch out as well.
I'm reminded of the NOW boycott of Florida orange juice a few years back when Rush was the spokesman. The NAGs would demonstrate in front of a store and all the Rush fans would go in and buy out all of the juice. May today's demonstrators be as successful.
Purdue (large, extremely good midwestern university) is likely not only open, but undergoing spring semester final exams today.
Perdue (large, over-hyped chicken producer) may or may not be open.
Make a big batch and freeze for later;)
It was a tradition of ribbons around a Maypole and the celebration of spring at the end of a long winter.
The tradition has been usurped. We need to keep perspective.
You really know how to hurt a gal, don't you? I'm sitting here, thousands of miles from Old Ebbett, eating a stale donut for breakfast, and you post a thing like that!!! I should hit the "abuse" button. If you go on to say you had one of their Bloody Marys, I will hit "abuse".
LOL! Good idea. :)
Per WIND radio, the Chicago Sun-Times has closed two plants in the Pilsen neighborhood. Worth remembering when you read their editorial page.

Gallo Wines are also closing today.
::side note, I believe it is important we distinguish between businesses who voluntary close, businesses who close because they hire illegals and businesses who are forced to close who don't hire illegals but their workforce doesn't show up.. The latter we shouldn't 'punish'.
