May 1 closures: who to boycott? Rallies (Live thread)
05/01/06

Posted on 04/30/2006 9:38:02 PM PDT by Heartofsong83

This should be a list of who is planning to close their business on Monday, May 1 in response of the Great American Boycott. We should compile it and boycott them ourselves if possible!

Remember to go shopping or work overtime on May 1!

What does SCA stand for? And how do you 'reenact the Middle Ages?

Hi, Ohio! I don't know what SCA stands for, but a local Hoosier SCA chapter rented a hall from a company I used to work for. They dressed up in medieval garb and used shields and swords and "fought". They also sat and talked and ate a lot. :-)

Make sure you find out which restaurants normally are closed on Monday before you boycott. For many restaurants, Monday is the only day they're closed (recovering from the weekend).

You know if all the Europeans are illegally here since 1492 then that would include most of them as well since most of the people who settled in Mexico cam from Spain. So a lot of their ancestors were illegals as well using their logic.

It would be useful and helpful if a review would be posted on Yahoo! Local noting a given businesses participation in this nonsense.

Should we start calling burglars “undocumented guests?”

"I'd like to know what happens when one of these "undocumented" workers infests the foods with some third-world disease and pass it on to the rest of us. I heard a story yesterday about e-coli showing up in packaged salads. Wonder if an illegal had anything to do with that?
"

What happens is that people get sick. Did an illegal have anything to do with e-coli in packaged salads? Very possibly.

My parents own a citrus farm in California. I've worked there when the pickers were in (mostly illegal). Even though there are portapotties in the orchard, the pickers just squat and leave their feces in the orchard. It's faster, you see.

Citrus is washed well before you get it, but...

I wouldn't be suprised at all if salad greens were contaminated with fecal matter. I'm sure the same procedure happens in the lettuce fields. Wash your salad greens well, for your own safety.

Oh dear. I was hoping that the news media and talk radio hype on this would turn out to be just that.

The MSNBC poll is dropping a bit to 70% against illegals with around 75,000 responses.

I am at a loss to understand WHERE ARE the 85plus percent of americans who are against amnesty for these illegals?

We're in school, at work, and out shopping.
