This should be a list of who is planning to close their business on Monday, May 1 in response of the Great American Boycott. We should compile it and boycott them ourselves if possible!
Remember to go shopping or work overtime on May 1!
EEEEEEEK!
Well, let's just say I don't cook for friends ... because I like them too much ;-) And I think "EEEEEEEK" would be a pretty good imitation of the response I'd get from them, if I tried ;-)
I promise I'll start a thread in the next day or two, though, if armymarinemom doesn't want to.
Goodnight for now :)
Beyond awful.
I think the protesters had a bust.
We have a valid target in Tyson and if we keep the boycott going, I think we will see results.
We might get a little respect.
:)Easy Does It:)
Today I made the following purchases or payments. I think I did my part as a 21 year-old to help boycott the boycott.
$853 - University tuition (Spring)
$90 - University medical insurance
$270 - University meal plan
$500 - Apartment rent (2 months and security deposit)
$36 - Misc supplies needed for apartment
$191 - New stereo for car
$15 - Haircut
$1955 - Total
These are basically all my purchases and payments until the end of June (minus groceries). I do still need a couple of things at the market, lets see if I can hit $2K in the hour I still have left. Sadly tomorrow is the start of Spring semester.
Is there a poster named HungarianGypsy or something close to that? She might be the kitchen ping list person - I was just scrolling an earlier thread and thought I saw that.
I'm too "noob" (as a very rude person told me today) to start a thread or ping list, I think. But I cook a lot and have recipes.
We did a Mexican food thread not a very long time ago for someone in Iraq. I might be able to find it in my comments file - no one would speak to me, so I may not have posted enough to have it saved. I'll look.
LOL!!!
Nite annie.
They're fighting with the Mexican POLICE? Why???
HungarianGypsy runs the kitchen list. Way earlier in this thread (when I was almost caught up for awhile), there was a mention of running the recipe thread over to the kitchen list at some point in the near future.
We cook a lot of Mexican foods around this house, an inexpensive way to feed a large family. I would be happy to add some of my recipes to the new thread once it's up, assuming I can steal my machine back from my kids for a few!
I'll get in on a kitchen list too... good recipes are always good! not really the thread for it, but since you keep talking about food, if anybody has some easy crock-pot type recipes, mexican or otherwise I need some help for dinners this week... (We all like Chicken.. lol) I Have 3 teenage garbage disposals and mom went to be with her mom in New York until Sunday, she had to have a hysterectomy today to hopefully get rid of uterine cancer. I can make pizza but that gets old and would be nice to come home from work and have it done!
They were stopping people from trying to cross from both ways.
This would be all who asked on this thread for Mexican recipes to fix at home so they don't have to go to their local Mexican restaurants that closed for Uno de Mayo.
Correct? Any more?

"If that list is still accurate then George Allen can give up any hopes of every becoming president."
If that list was accurate 6 weeks ago, then he is nothing more than an opportunist, if he has since changed his mind.
NO elected member of our government should waiver when it comes to violating our Constitution and breaking our law is acceptable.
Thank you...
I thought George Allen looked good until someone showed my his position on firearms ownership. It came from his own website and in essence he doesn't support individual ownership of firearms. I guess I can be called a one-issue guy when it comes to the 2nd Amendment. Actually I start to have very dark thoughts when I hear a position like that. I stop thinking about the political process completely.
Well there is no doubt we got the right company to go after.
We need to keep the boycott on Til they go broke, or forever, whichever comes first.
BOYCOTT TYSON FOODS

Just in case I forgot to ping anyone, the Mexican recipe thread just went up here:

Damn Shame

My husband and I have been living apart (he went to help on our family farm after my Dad died); he's living alone..the crock pot has become his new best friend.
Here's one little tip: get the new "crock pot liners." You pop them in the pot; put the food in; pull out the entire liner when it's done...no cleaning of the crock pot.
I don't use them, but hubby sounded like a kid with a new toy when he tried them.
