Getting Your Money's Worth? ; No? Then You Might Want to Check Out the Fair/Tax

There's one thing good about tax deadline day - it reminds Americans of the harsh reality of a tax system that's brainless, expensive and out of control.

Taxpayers are sending Washington more than a trillion dollars - $1,000,000,000,000 - this year. Think you're getting your money's worth?

Incidentally, that figure doesn't include another $150 billion, which about 60 percent of Americans pay tax-preparers to do their taxes. That's because the 66,000-page federal tax code is beyond comprehension.

And guess what Congress' response to this conundrum is? Well, from your friendly key tax-writers on the Senate Finance Committee, Republican Chuck Grassley of Iowa and Democrat Max Baucus of Montana, comes this bipartisan reform proposal: make tax preparers undergo more training; perhaps require them to be licensed.

Unbelievable. Licensing tax preparers would only boost the cost of their services. It would not improve the quality of the preparation. As one survey after another shows, preparers seldom agree even when preparing the same taxes. Help from the Internal Revenue Service is no guarantee either - and if IRS tax advice is wrong, whom can you trust to get your taxes right?

The current tax code is not only senseless, it's cruelly unfair as well - and unnecessarily expensive. It's a nutty system that can't possibly be fixed by better-trained tax preparers. That's just a con by politicians who use the tangled code to cut tax breaks for their friends and add to the tax burdens of their enemies - in other words, the zany, inexcusable system empowers politicians who are loath to give up that power.

At some point, and the day may not be far off, the public will rise up and demand a fair, simpler and sensible system of taxation. Anything would be better than the monstrosity we have now, and though there are many good tax reform plans out there. The best is the FairTax, sponsored by U.S. Rep. John Linder, R-Ga., and picking up steam in Congress. Check it out at www.fairtax.org or Linder's best-seller, The FairTax Book."

Something needs to change. There's the filing deadline, and when one has to pay and you request a payment plan the late fees and costs are outrageous, usury.

We need tax reform.

We really do NOT need tax reform. All American Citizens need to do is to stop paying taxes, after all it is ok for all the illegals to not pay taxes. It must be, since all of our gutless, ballless and clueless congresscritters are so damn busy kissing the illegal's @sses. (Mine are Kohl, Kind, and Feingold).
They could at least afford the citizens, the same "rights"

Actually, we DO need tax reform in the sahpe of a tax system that will not only boost US economic growth, but will boost the tax burden on illegal aliens (and other non-citizens who reside here or visit here) since presently we carry that burden and it's growing all the time.

The FairTax will do the job very well, indeed as you can see by visiting the FairTax website.

There's lots of helpful information there on many, many different topics. Check the FAQs and Rebuttals for example. Illegal aliens (and their bretheren) will contribute to the US tax base every time they purchase taxable things at retail - and they won't be eligible for the prebate, either making the FairTax even more helpful vis-a-vis the illegal economy.

37% of our economy is "underground".
34% of taxes are used in collection. (IRS)

We really do NOT need tax reform. All American Citizens need to do is to stop paying taxes, after all it is ok for all the illegals to not pay taxes.

The only problem is Article 1 Section 8 gives Congress the power to lay and collect taxes. We would be no better than the illegal immigrants if we violate the law.

A Taxreform bump for you all.

If anyone would like to be added to this ping list let me know.

John Linder in the House(HR25) & Saxby Chambliss Senate(S25) offer a comprehensive bill to kill all income and SS/Medicare payroll taxes outright and replace them with with a national retail sales tax administered by the states.

H.R.25,S.25
A bill to promote freedom, fairness, and economic opportunity by repealing the income tax and other taxes, abolishing the Internal Revenue Service, and enacting a national retail sales tax to be administered primarily by the States.

want the illegals to not only pay taxes but to pay MUCH more than you?

insist your reps pass the FAIR TAX bill. Then the illegals, who wont get the pre-bate to cover the sales tax up to over the break even point = will pay from dollar one. And employers that hire them will be better able to hire Americans, as they will freed up from the punitive matching fed. taxes.

Just get rid of the IRS. Get this bill passed and it will take effect NEXT JANUARY. (The IRS will be dismantled and all records destroyed...no more blackmailing reps and citizens by despots like Hitlery)

Wouldn't you like to get your pay check WITHOUT one cent deducted? Or do you have so much money that you don't need it - or are you in the very high income bracket where you would no longer have all the loop holes, but would really be paying your "FAIR share"?

Exactly.

But time is growing short and the Illegals issue is drowning everything else out.

We need to email the links to FAIR TAX to everyone in our email address box - and urge them to do the same. (If you emailed it to just 10 people and they reached 10 more - by the time the 5th round emailed, your initial emails will have generated 100,000 emails. do the math...it's time for us to realize how far reaching our capabilities are with this thing Al Bore created, ;o) the Internet>

AND we need to flood our congresscritters and senators with the demand to pass this bill NOW - and it will take effect NEX JANUARY! No more IRS, records destroyed, NO deductions from your pay check! (take a look at your paycheck. Wouldn't it be nice to get the GROSS?

It's up to us. We'll never get another shot at this.

http://www.fairtax.org/

http://www.geocities.com/cmcofer/ftax.html

Never again have to file tax forms. Never have to report who you work for, how much you make, where you get it from. Illegals immigrants will pay though the nose as they wont get the offset pre-bate. (makes my heart sing to think of it) Goods will level off on price. Small business will be able to add jobs....and we will realize freedom like we have never know it in our lifetimes.

But this is our only shot - better get on board...tell your reps to join Sen. Linder on this bill.

from dollar one! they wouldn't get the pre-bate offset. I love it.

37% of our economy is "underground".

no more need - no more reporting who you work for or how much you make or where you get it from.

34% of taxes are used in collection. (IRS)

Washingon will have more money than they do now - but without the threat of audits and other blackmail tactics hanging over our heads, we can scream our heads off and demand to know just where they spend it. The "representatives" will be reduced to just that again - Not potentates ruling the masses.

Send the FAIR TAX links to everyone in your email address box and urge them to do the same. Just 5 generations of this will reach 100,000 people. Do the math. It's time we realized just how effective WE THE PEOPLE can be with this Internet.

http://www.fairtax.org/

http://www.geocities.com/cmcofer/ftax.html

And demand it of your congresscritters and senators. Tell them to climb on board this bill with Sen. Linder. Get it passed and it takes effect in January! Never file another tax return
