The hundreds of thousands of protesters who took to the streets........seem to "know" America better than most Americans.........
* The rule of law is irrelevant whenever enforcement becomes impractical, burdensome or politically inconvenient........thousands of marchers had no fear whatsoever of being arrested or detained.
* The English language is "flexible"......"illegal alien" becomes "undocumented worker" - as if the two were actually interchangeable.
* We're the world's leading practitioner of moral relativism .....anyone who opposes massive law-breaking or defends the integrity of American culture is "racist" or "xenophobic."
The will of the American people is of no consequence.
Poll after poll shows a substantial majority oppose amnesty, guest-worker programs, open borders, drivers' licenses for illegals, etc..........but politicians care more about courting Hispanic votes.
......Congress has passed seven separate amnesties for illegal aliens since 1986......the Senate's getting ready to pass another.

You will not see this heart-stopping photo on the front page of the NY Times or on the lead story of the major news networks. You should (hat tip: Mika and F/R):
Meanwhile: Mexico Cheers Passage of Immigration Bill
Like I said: Welcome to reconquista.
I predict this stunt will be the nail in the coffin of any guest-worker/amnesty plan on the table in Washington. The image of the American flag subsumed to another and turned upside down on American soil is already spreading on Internet forums and via e-mail.
Previous this week:
Free rides for student protesters
How 'bout media guest workers?
Welcome to reconquista
Teddy Kennedy is very happy
Bush's shadow boxing
Minutemen attacked
Bush's open-borders platitudes
This attitude that there is nothing we can do about this scares the crap out of me.
Please tell me what other country has as little control of their borders as we do.
Why do you think politicians care more about about courting the Hispanic vote on this issue? Because despite your reality, most Americans don't see illegals as a voting issue. It really isn't an issue to the vast majority of Americans, but it is to Hispanic voters.
I am losing my will to vote at all. I will probably vote in 06 but at this point 08 seems worthless. What is the point of winning the war against Islam while we give away the country to the Mexicans and the socialists? By amnesty we convert the illegals into Democratic votes. There are not enough conservatives/Republicans/Christian votes to come anywhere near to matching that. And even if legalization is a slow incomplete process, our Republican politicians are still running for that vote in preference to the votes of those who elected them. What is the good of a vote when he electees WILL ignore the majority they have to court a very different majority they are trying to create? The political split in this country is developing to an invincible gap between the voting citizenry and the government they elect. It seems we can only vote for a choice of enemies.
"Does no one remember Kosovo? "
That is exactly correct. This is exactly what happened in Kosovo. As you know, the ethnic Albanians were maintained by welfare programs at the expense of Serb taxpayers. They set up their own, parallel government and began harassing Serbs in the provence in order to "clense" Kosovo of ethnic Serbs....just as they are still doing. When Serbs fought back and kicked THEM out, Clinton and his European cronies took sides, bombed the Serbs and gave Kosovo to the Albanian side.
For American politicians not to recognize what is happening here is incredible.
Keep firing away and the spineless imps in the Senate. That's all you can do aside from running them out of town, abolishing them, shredding the Constitution, and giving the keys of the Kingdom to the House.
I will not vote for any politician that votes for any sort of amnesty or legalization. I don't care if he is rock solid prolife pro gun-whatever. Voting for legalization is voting for abortion and against guns and everything else conservative. It does not matter how socially conservative the illegals are, they will vote for whatever Democrat is running. The Democrats have a huge new safe bloc whose real values need not be considered even a little bit. This is a new unassailable Democrat Majority, and- socialism, whose motor has been sputtering of late- will suddenly get a complete rebuild and a top-of-the-line turbocharger.
It is gaining some momentum, but it is like global warming. Everyone says they care about it, but no one is willing to pay a price to do something about it. Anti-immigration has not been a voting issue. Most the people who are passionate on this issue are the Hispanics, pro-immigration side.
The uprising in the streets proves your point well.
Whittier area students from Pioneer, California and Whittier high schools walked out of classes to protest the proposed federal immigration bill March 27, 2006. The protestors put up the Mexican flag over the American flag flying upsidedown at Montebello High. (Leo Jarzomb/Staff photo)

"Ladies and Gentlemen, what this means (the immigration bill) is a transfer of power, it means control, and it is the young people, the people who are now moving to develop an agenda for the twenty first century they are going to be in a position to really make the promise of what the Chicano movement was all about in terms of self-determination, in terms of empowerment, even in the terms of an Aztlan...."
And this just pisses me off. Seriously.

Sometimes, politicians have to do what is best for the country as a whole, setting aside majority opinion in each of their States - that's one of the more important reasons we have a Republic rather than direct democracy.
Just look at France, Denmark and Italy. Only their illegals are Muslims.
Nice theory .......but Politicians ONLY do what is best for THEM.
