Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wisc., says he's not going to be deterred by the wave of demonstrations protesting his bill to crack down on illegal immigration.
Responding to a pro-illegal immigration demonstration in Milwaukee on Thursday, Sensenbrenner called the protest "impressive," but added: "Many have tried to confuse the difference between legal and illegal immigration."

Americans need to produce more of our own children but we need to be able to afford to do so.
Not when every single cable news program I've watched this a.m. (including Fox) frames this as an "immigration" debate. It's not! It's about massive numbers of people breaking existing law, then cynically trying to use their 'rights' under the same law to make demands on legal citizens.
It's crucial to get the language right! These people are lawbreakers, illegal aliens, non-citizens. They have absolutely no rights under the Constitution except those granted to fugitives. ENFORCE EXISTING LAWS! If Congress won't do it it's time to find new Congress-critters who will.
I have this sick feeling in my stomach. I saw them trampling the American flag this morning on the news. Our flag was at least 1/4 way on the ground, and the anarchists were stepping off of it.
Several FReepers have been pointing out the prevalent attitude of the elites. It is probably all over for us. We have been told we cannot do anything to deport them. We have been told we need the non-amnesty. We just witnessed the angry masses, demanding rights formerly reserved for American citizens.
How many inventions have the invading 3rd worlders made in the last 20 years? 50? How many patents? Brilliant world ideas? Just asking since very soon we will need some new ideas and not just gardeners, won't we? since we are apparently out of Americans to work and pay into Social Security.
How long until the new majority decides we shouldn't own guns? Until they start using Kelo en masse? Until they award themselves so many benefits paid for by others that we are taxed 50/60/70% instead of 30%? Until most of the country looks like the trashed desert near my home?
Even if you have an accident due to your wreckless behaviours, you are required to carry some insurance as a legal driver. If an illegal wrecks, I have to shoulder the financial burden of an uninsured motorist AND pay his medical bills - AND have wages reduced.
Your analogy is invalid in many ways.
Try again to explain to me why you excuse the fraud and deceit of illegal immigration and illegal tax evasion resulting in lower wages in the US but choose not to excuse the fraud and deceit you perceive in the Iraq war.

I disagree. As long as we have a ballot box, we're in charge. We will be pushed until we decide to do something about it - as Americans do. ONce we decide to handle a situation, it will be handled. That's the upside.
The downside is we'll be pushed around until then. Of course, we're getting mighty close to the breaking point on more than one issue - immigration, taxes, SS to name a few.
Interestingly, a national retail sales tax replacing our income tax would help with all three of these problems.

Since I am also from Georgia and my family is in the construction business, I am going to have to tell you that is a lie. Construction workers are paid more, at least minimum wage.
Though you may be confusing "$2 to dollars an hour" with "$2 dollars a square foot", which can be a lot of money. Most small houses are around 2000 to 2500 square feet, do the math, that is a decent amount of money for a worker.
"Dollar by the square foot" is a construction formula contractors use to figure out how much a house cost to build; material, time and labor.

A group can be picked up in a number of places and will do a FULL day's work for $25 plus food and a ride.
This is for unskilleds. Subs are something different. But to clean up, unload, carry, etc it's $25 a day plus food.
Actually, the unloading it usually done by the delivery man who beings the material. Wood lumber is not really a problem. It's the sheetrock and plywood panels that are the heavy materials.
I have called family members from out of state. I have asked them to call their senators regarding bill #4437. Our discussions have been mainly on the fact that there are so many illegals aliens in the country and that Bush and congress have done a pi$$ poor job of protecting the borders. One of the questions we all intend to ask is, "Is our country going to be mob ruled?" We want a written answer to this question. We will also be watching their vote on 4437.

Unloading from the truck isn't what I was referring to... it is the moving from the pile of lumber to the back of the site - or to the 2nd floor, or wherever.
And the point is that you can pick up illegals at a number of locations and pay $25 per day plus food for whatever work you have.
Actually, those in my family have the delivery man load the material at the place it mostly to be used, though they will not carry it to the 2nd floor. It is for example, almost no problem for them to put the sheetrock on top of the slab before the wooden frame of the walls are built.
We just get it dropped off at the site in a huge pile - sometimes separated by size. We pay a lot per hour of delivery service. That's why we tell them to drop it.
Irrespective of delivery charges and cusomary drop off procedures, one can pick up illegals who will do whatever you tell them to do for $25 plus food and a ride.
My family does not hire illegals. And in my experience those who do hire illegals don't build to housing codes. I tell you horror stories. I even know of a two-story house that is held together by hardyboard. Hardyboard is not even support to be used in Georgia because the high humidity destroys it.
Of course things are finally changing, because starting next year, by a new state law only state licensed contractors can build houses and these jacklegs will be put out of business.
I refuse to blame this on businesses. I will once the government starts denying ILLEGAL immigrants free medical care, free education, free welfare benefits all done at the expense of productive members of society.
RATS also want the votes. That's probably the prime motivation behind their desire to protect them and not want to hold them accountable.
I see your problem. The key to this is have the delivery schedule laided out with your supplier in that curtain materials are delevered on time, when you need them and not before, in one big pile. But you need a supplier who gives a damn to do this right.
But if you do it that way, you can save yourself a weeks worth of labor on a small house. As long as your workforce does not slack off, nor there is bad weather.
