And the point is that you can pick up illegals at a number of locations and pay $25 per day plus food for whatever work you have.

My family does not hire illegals. And in my experience those who do hire illegals don't build to housing codes. I tell you horror stories. I even know of a two-story house that is held together by hardyboard. Hardyboard is not even support to be used in Georgia because the high humidity destroys it.

Of course things are finally changing, because starting next year, by a new state law only state licensed contractors can build houses and these jacklegs will be put out of business.

We don't either (hire illegals). But I'm not in the majority I don't think. Beng in the residential business, we're frequently helping friends with their homes. It is my most recent experience doing so to which I refer. When my brother and law and I arrived, the owner was away with the truck- I asked his wife where he was "picking up some help at the home depot... isn't it great we can get them to do this and that for $25!? We just feed them subway and dominos and give 'em a ride home and it's done today!"

They moved lumber, bricks, carried squares of shingles, etc. They cleaned up, monitored the fire, etc on another day.

So the illegals can be hired easily.
