Unloading from the truck isn't what I was referring to... it is the moving from the pile of lumber to the back of the site - or to the 2nd floor, or wherever.
And the point is that you can pick up illegals at a number of locations and pay $25 per day plus food for whatever work you have.
Actually, those in my family have the delivery man load the material at the place it mostly to be used, though they will not carry it to the 2nd floor. It is for example, almost no problem for them to put the sheetrock on top of the slab before the wooden frame of the walls are built.
My family does not hire illegals. And in my experience those who do hire illegals don't build to housing codes. I tell you horror stories. I even know of a two-story house that is held together by hardyboard. Hardyboard is not even support to be used in Georgia because the high humidity destroys it.
Of course things are finally changing, because starting next year, by a new state law only state licensed contractors can build houses and these jacklegs will be put out of business.
